"The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. Last year, when we couldn't get off the island due to ferry problems, Jan put us up for an extra with no charge. "We enjoyed our stay! Discovered we had lots to learn about how things work in the UK, and Raymond was great to respond to every question. We were a 3-generation family group of 7. The stairs were a bit challenging for me (the matriarch, with balance problems), and having 1 bathroom worked for the short stay that we had but might be challenging for a longer stay with this many guests. Hospitality was great! Raymond & Brenda had a welcome sign with all our family names on it; took a picture of it....

"We loved our stay at the Wee Silverburn! It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Decorated so nicely, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking wares and cleaning supplies. The babbling brook just beyond the lush garden plantings completed the lovely setting. The location is wonderful, an easy walk down the beach and other offerings at Whiting Bay. The bus stop is right there too if you want to pop to a pub or two in Lamlash for dinner and drinks....
