Agapantha Cottage is set in a shared garden that also has vegetables, fruit trees (orange, lemon, lime, apricot, cherry, fig, kiwi, plum, olive and apple) and ponds. As it’s name suggests there are (over 2000) agapantha flower heads that line the driveway and garden beds in summer.
Vintage furniture has been revamped with original art works on the walls. The Cottage is self contained with a full working kitchen including microwave, sandwich maker, toaster, wok, full fridge/ freezer, coffee pod machine. There is a washing machine, clothes rack and split aircon unit as well. Great for family, writers and artists. Wifi and power included.
A comfortable queen bed and a single rollaway bed (on request and set up as needed in the living area) are available.
Strictly no parking inside the driveway gate as the drive is too narrow. Unload in front of gate if necessary, then park in bays or on the street, which only has local traffic.

Canberra has many museums, galleries, parks (with gas bbqs), bushwalking trails, bike paths, lake activities (kayaking, sailing, boat touring, swimming, boat peddling), amazing childrens playgrounds including road safety for bikes, the arboretum with banksia pods (see my photo). There are great restaurants nearby at the Belconnen Lakeside. Markets are also a feature notably Kingston Markets on every Sunday, Hall Market on 1st Sunday of the month and close to the Cottage, the Jamieson Market also on Sundays.
Canberra is also known as the garden city or bush capital. The famous Floriade festival of bulbs and gardens at the Lake Burley Griffen and the private Tulip Top Gardens, held in Spring, is highly recommended.
