We had an amazing time at the RIU!!! The staff was amazing… Ishmael, Gil, Susan, Oscar, Ariel, Johnny, Rudolfo, and so many many more beyond amazing!!! Lifeguards were beyond fabulous and we saw them in action taking care of someone who needed help!!! Sooo impressed. The house keeping was great…such sweet ladies and the groundskeepers kept the RIU so beautiful. Every staff member you encountered smiled and greeted you. We had a great time walking around and the beach pkg was sooo beautiful… we had a fabulous time with our bodyboards and we loved spending time at the pool as well. The food was great and it is really hard to pick a favorite…. We enjoyed it all. The room we had was spectacular and the view was breathing taking!!! We cannot wait to go back next year!!! Thank tou so much for making this a wonderful trip for us!!!

Ok, so this is an almost brand-new hotel (2022) on a great stretch of Beach. I have stayed in the hotel zone since 1987 at almost every hotel. The only thing that could be larger was the Spa. But the steam and plunge pools were included. We did upgrade to the Elite club. Which gave you a better view, a private pool, a special restaurant, and top shelf alcohol. This is a very good hotel and a great value. If you are looking at Secrets the Vine or the Iberostar coral level, I would encourage you to give RIU a shot. Note: there are a few hotels on the beach that are either closed or being renovated. Across the street is the Isla mall if you like Ultra-Premium shopping.

For sure 5 star treatment from the time I was picked up from airport by their transfer! Greeted immediately at the front door when I arrived and had my bags taken to the side while I did check in process, was provided a welcome glass of champagne before getting my room key. The amenities were endless, never had a bad meal at ANY of the restaurants. The spa staff were so kind, professional, and truly understand what relaxation means. Housekeeping was there every day to clean, make beds leaving Hershey kisses and flower petals! Room service was quick! The gym was great, the pools, the activities, and beautiful grounds well kept! I didn't like the noise at night due to being right across from the elevator but doesn't take away from anything this resort has to offer. It was also my birthday and I came back from an excursion to find a bottle of champagne, cake, and a beautiful printed message! I will be back to Cancun and will choose this resort every time! You cannot go wrong at this resort. The staff is very attentive and constantly working very hard to ensure your vacation is fun. We have now stayed there two times and will continue coming back as it is very consistent and reliable on having a good time.

Overall 8.5/10 Venue: 9/10. The place is CLEAN! I didn’t see one piece of trash during my stay. You can see some wear and tear throughout the property (minor really, I’m just boujee) but the cleanliness makes up for it. They also do not have an outdoor hot tub. They only have one in the spa that you can use with a reservation. Staff: 12/10! They are super attentive and helpful. I called maintenance twice because of things I didn’t know how to use and they were at my door in less than 15 minutes. Elite Club: 7.5/10. The rooms have better views and you get a separate pool. But the other pools are more fun. You are able to make reservations to the restaurants. You get premium liquor in your room and a bottle of rose. I got it but felt that I could’ve pass on it. Food: 8.5/10. They have great restaurants Drink: 6.5/10. I wasn’t impressed with the drinks. I actually sent 2 back because they weren’t good. And the wines were basic. Vibe and other activities: I went in early November and it wasn’t crowded. It was a chill and pleasant vibe. The hotel is a 5 minutes drive from central Cancun and there is a shuttle that can bring you to parties at the other RIU hotels. Spa: the spa seems small and the massages were a little more expensive than what I pay in Florida. ($212 for 80 mins).
