This historic duplex home was built in the early 1900s when Cape Charles was founded. It has just been newly renovated for the 2018 rental season. This 4-bedroom home is a 1/2 block from Mason Ave. and 3 short blocks to the beaches. From the ground up with all NEW utilities including central air conditioning, new plumbing, and electrical throughout. 3 1/2 newly renovated baths with granite floors and countertops, a lovely new kitchen with plenty of room to spread out for a group of 10. This three-story home has a kitchen, dining room, and parlor room on the first floor. Two queen beds, and two full bathrooms on the second floor. There are two additional bedrooms and another full bathroom on the third floor with two trundle beds upstairs as well.

Great town and beach location!
we enjoyed the spacious 4-br side of the home, the nice back yard for playing catch, and the quick bike ride to town and beach with young kids! Jack was very helpful and communicative.

Had a wonderful time in this town. Location was excellent. Rented a golf cart which is a must although easy walk to the beach and other shops etc on Mason Ave. Beach area and town very family friendly. Down side to this house is the steep stairs but we managed . Another downside was upon arrival house had not been fully cleaned even after checking time but owner was very apologetic. Overall it was a wonderful week!

Great home for family vacation
We had a great time in Cape Charles. The house was everything we expected and more! Perfect location. The kitchen had everything we needed and the whole home was extremely clean. I would note that if you can’t do stairs this isn’t the home for you, there are a lot of steep steps up to bedrooms but even my 82 yo grandma did it. I will definitely recommend Jack to anyone traveling to Cape Charles.

Very good location in a charming coastal town. Well appointed large kitchen. Good bedroom and bath spaces. Outdoor shower a huge bonus for two little boys! Our second stay in this VRBO. Host is very responsive to any concerns.

Quality Family Time
We wanted a house that would accommodate our adult children and grands. The house was beautifully decorated and stocked with all we needed. I was worried about the 3rd floor being hot but on the contrary it stayed cool all week. We loved that everything was within walking distance. We rented both sides of house and had plenty of space for 12 adults and 3 small children. Plenty of parking and side lot for children to play. The outdoor shed was filled with good quality beach stuff. It was beautiful. I loved outside shower too . Would definitely rent again. Already thinking about a girls trip in the fall. Cynthia

Very nice stay for two families with 5 kids age 10-16. Plenty of space to spread out and be together. Owner has done a nice job ensuring all the supplies you could need (linens, cookware, etc.) are available in the house. Listing originally did not include detail that it is a duplex. That was something we thought should be disclosed given the current COVID-19 epidemic. Owner has since addressed this in the listing. And it was not an issue for us during our stay. Thanks!

Very nice and convenient
This is excellent location for a beach stay. Living with Covid-19 we weren’t too sure about making the trip but so thankful we did. Town is charming and not super crowded. Beach was the same. Property is ideal for family with young ones. Stairs were a concern but we all made it and no accidents. Great vacation house!

Great spacious home with all the amenities a family needs. We enjoyed our week (family of 5 with 2 grandparents too) and had plenty of space in the 4 bedrooms. Third floor bedrooms were spacious and provided plenty of play area for the younger kids. One block from the candy store and the shaved ice shack. Love this place.

Perfect Downtown Beach Town
First; the owner shared a great list of details about the property and the town so our group was expertly prepared for our visit before we arrived. Which as a Bachellorette group of ladies who'd mostly not previously met one another took away a huge layer of stress! Second; location, location, location!!! We could and did walk everywhere. This house is in the perfect location to do anything in Cape Charles. We were able to walk to the beach, all the restaurants, shops and even the Cape Charles Brewery. Lastly; this property was better than the photography used to portray it. There is lots of space for groups to spend time together without being cramped and the bed room layout was fantastic. The kitchen was huge and well stocked with all the pots, pans, dishware, glasses, grill supplies and more. This made it super easy for our group to really take advantage of this space for more than just sleeping. Beyond all this, the property is obviously cared for and the attention to detail around the home and in communicating with the owner really exceeded my expectation and help make for a wonderful visit to Cape Charles. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to visit the area.

Beautiful house in perfect location
Our group of 10 (kids and adults) had a great four-day stay at this property. It was steps away from stores/cafes. And it was a pleasant, short walk to the beach. The house is beautifully decorated. The sleeping accommodations were comfortable and flexible and the house is solidly built and quite sound proof, so everyone slept well. Having beach chairs, towels, sand toys, etc. in the shed made life (and packing) much easier. The kitchen was well stocked -- it even had handy things like Tupperware and Saran Wrap, etc. Jack was also very pleasant and responsive. I would highly recommend this property!

WOW! I want to give this house10 stars
This is not your typical vacation rental! It is like staying in Jack’s actual home. OK, so I don't know what Jack's home is like, but it's like someone's home. The house has been beautifully restored. The décor is lovely, and the style is consistent throughout the house. The house has wonderful large windows and the porch with rockers is truly an additional room that was put to good use during our visit. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the quality of the kitchenware is top notch and plentiful. I know that I usually struggle to find even some of the basics at some rentals. Jack even was thoughtful enough to make sure that there was an oyster shucker! I did not hear a single complaint about the comfort of the beds. The third floor was like an extra house! Two familys (4 adults and 4 children) had more than enough room to spread out and make themselves at home. And, they weren't hot! Whomever did the HVAC knew what they were doing. There were plenty of bath towels, blankets and comforters. There are also cushy beach towels. The tables allowed us to share meals without doing so in shifts. The shed contains a wagon, beach chairs, sport-brellas for shade and beach toys. These were put to good use since the beach is only a few blocks away and there is no charge to hang out there. We only used the back deck for grilling, but the deck and backyard are perfect. There is an outdoor shower, too. Great for our batch of sandy kids! We rented both sides of this property for a family get together and my entire family was impressed. It's always a bit dicey when planning for an entire family but staying here made our gathering extra-special. Thanks, Jack!

Beautiful clean house, large kitchen, blocks from the beach and downtown
This house really can't be beat for a large group. We had 8 adults and 6 kids looking for an extended family beach getaway. It was clean, modern, and spacious. Large kitchen and big dining room table allowed us to save money do several meals in. The front and back porches were a welcome respite. The backyard shed had a large number and appreciated essential beach supplies that worked well with our large group. Only snafu was that we needed and the owner quickly dropped off sheets for the queen air mattress and king sheets for the adjoining twin beds to convert it into a combined King. Otherwise, we'd go back in a heartbeat and consider adding on the duplex in future years as our family grows.

Fantastic family stay!
This property was in a great location (one block off the main shopping/restaurant area, 3 blocks from the beach). The home was clean, well laid out, with a large dining area. Little things like beach towels, a wagon, great kitchen tools, and chairs were extra touches that made our lives easier while we enjoyed time with other families. Very clean, newly renovated, and a great home!

Exceeded expectations for memorable family vacation!
We were a family of six adults and two grandchildren under the age of 5, gathering for a beach vacation. The property was comfortable and exceeded expectations, delivering everything promised in the description. In addition, Jack (property manager) made available a pack-n-play for corralling our littlest one at night. Jack's responsiveness and attentiveness was superior and we were delighted at every turn to find items to make our stay more fun and comfortable. The location was perfect - just a block from the main street of shops, and an easy few blocks' walk, even for Grammy, to the beach. Golf cart friendly streets made it easy to navigate to dinner and shops, or just tour the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the Shanty and the Oyster Farm Eatery, as well as grilling at "home" on the huge gas grill and well-outfitted deck. We would definitely consider this property again , and found HomeAway portal and mobile apps to be great consumer tools as well.

Our family of 8 adults and 3 children enjoy our stay at and Randolph Ave in Cape Charles. The house is has a recent complete renovation and was very nice and clean and furnished with meticulous details. Short walk to the beach and shopping but we brought our golf cart and enjoy running around town. The owner Jack was responsive if you have issues with the house. The outdoor shower was nice touch. I knock of one star because, it s a duplex which was not mentioned in the description, however, our neighbors was very quite. Also the we have issues with water pressure in the upstairs bathroom. It seems like the upstairs bathrooms have no pressure at all when one bathroom is being used downstairs. It's nice to have multiple bathrooms but you cannot use 2 showers at the same time.

Great location and well done renovation.
Loved it!! Just be aware that since it is a historic site, the stairs are steep and narrow to the bedrooms. It worked perfect for us but I think my parents would have had a hard time with the stairs. Roomy downstairs great for a group to hang out, play games, and eat.

This was a great property for our group. Jack made everything quite convenient for us, including a thoughtfully stocked shed in the back with a full array of beach items. We ended up renting a golf cart and are glad we did. It is not a far walk to the beach, but with kids the cart made the back and forth quick. The beach is beautiful, not crowded( even in the peak of summer!). Great beach for young kids.

Top-Notch, Modern and Comfortable House - unbeatable location!
My wife, son, two friends and their two kids stayed at this house for five nights over the Labor Day Weekend. We had stayed in Bay Creek before and enjoyed it, but this location is perfect. It's only a few blocks to the public beach, and you are right down in the old part of Cape Charles. Totally accessible to everything! Really great place to stay if you want cleanliness, modern feel and class. Landlord has done am amazing job! Grill, deck, table & chairs w/umbrella, 4 beach chairs, a cute front porch with rocking chairs....... take it all in!!! Highly recommend: - Cape Charles Coffee House - charming and great breakfast! - The Shanty - lunch & dinner, drinks - Oyster Farm - dinner, drinks - Brown Dog Ice Cream - kids! - Kelly's - drinks, good grub - Rayfield's Pharmacy (old school breakfast!) When I spoke to the landlord the first few times, he was very honest, helpful and clearly was excited about this place - recently re-done (almost everything!). This is an amazing, luxuriously styled old Victorian, but with all of the top amenities. He did an amazing job re-modeling this house and all of the bathrooms are either tiled or granite. This house blew us away and we will stay here again! The house is super comfortable, great for two families, and even for one family with 3-6 people. We walked to and from the beach six times in two days with little worry, time or effort. There is a little yard in the back for kids to play also, which was nice.

The house exceeded all of our expectations,
We had a lovely stay in Cape Charles. The house exceeded all of our expectations. I highly recommend staying here. The owner has gone above and beyond to provide a comfortable home with everything you would need to enjoy yourselves. The stairs are steep and a tad narrow, but we had 3 toddlers and a great-grandmother who handled them fine! The beach was perfect and the town was precious.
