Worst Rental Property Ever!
The carpet was filthy! The floors were so crooked and uneven I nearly fell upon entering the house. The front porch was falling apart and a real danger for anyone who carelessly leaned on the posts or screens - you could fall right out. The recessed lights and old AC units were falling out of the ceiling and the electrical outlets looked as if they had been on fire. The washer and dryer did not work and there was no outside trash can although we were instructed to put our trash in the outside receptacle. The paint was peeling inside and out and the only positive thing I can say about the house is the AC worked well. There was no acceptable TV offered, the beds were horrible and I am so glad we brought our own sheets and towels because the ones offered were meager. There were no knobs on the kitchen cabinets making it nearly impossible to open them and the staircase was treacherous. The only reason we stayed is because we had 30 friends and family in other houses that were full to the brim, we had our dogs with us and there were no other accommodation available. We decided to grin and bear so we could share the time with our group. We love Cape Charles but this house is a dump! It should be removed from VRBO and we should be given a refund.

Nice old country house. Great screened porch. Has all the things you need and then some. Beds were OK but not great. Overall I'd do this again.

This was a perfect getaway for us to celebrate our daughter turning 16! We spent most of our awake hours exploring the town or sitting on the screened in porch with our pups! Thanks for sharing your home.

Wonderful time in Cape Charles
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Oyster Shell in Cape Charles. The house was very conveniently located, and a very short walk to the restaurants and shops on Mason Street. Beach access is walkable, but driving is easier, and parking is plentiful (and free). The house itself was well kept, and had all the cookware and other items you could want. There are 3 bedrooms, and although it sleeps 12, two of the rooms had multiple beds (great for kids, but maybe not for unrelated adults). There is a large dining table, as well as plenty of other areas to eat or gather with your family and friends. The town is truly an undiscovered gem, and we will definitely be back.

Overall this property suited our needs. Decent location, roomy dining area. Nice TV, nice that games, beach chairs, and toys provided. Could have been cleaner in my opinion, was missing washcloths, toilet paper and paper towels when we arrived. Outside shower was unusable and locked, there was trash strewn about at the back of the property and a very scary looking uninhabitable property right next door.

They thought of everything!
This house was perfect for a quick beach get away! Clean, plenty of space, all the amenities you could want, and great communication with the booking agent thru VRBO. Every detail about anything we could possibly think of was well communicated before we even had a chance to ask. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location
The house has a lot of character, aka, uneven floors and small doorways, but it has pretty much everything you need. 2 good size full bathrooms and 3 small bedrooms. Everything was very clean. A few curiosities- no batteries in the tv/DVD remotes or kitchen wall clock, so we had to purchase ones to be able to use the tv. Although we knew there was no cable or internet m, we could not figure out how to even get basic tv stations to watch the news at night. The grill is handy but very unstable, use with caution. The outdoor shower is a nice perk and great for rinsing off sand before entering the house. All in all, a nice little place with a. great location.

Nice place for dog and kids
The house accommodated our needs but we spent most of our time at the beach. It's a very simple house with no frills but was comfortable for us- couldn't get the TV to work but entertained ourselves with nights of Monopoly that was at the house. Recommend having a golf cart if you have stuff to schlep to the beach - it's a bit of a walk.

For sure coming back
This property was the perfect spot for our big family. Not too far to walk to the beach, and enough space for all of us. The communication was great and we enjoyed our time so much we want to book for next year already!
