Overall this is a nice boutique hotel. I enjoyed the rooftop pool. If booking the standard room, just know that you may or may not get a balcony as pictured. This is very confusing. Upon check-in, I was put in a room on the 1st floor without a balcony. After expressing my concern with what I'd expected (a balcony), I was moved to an apt room which was very nice. This may have been due to my Gold status as well, though. Breakfast is delicious and delivered at the requested time.

Unfortunately the staff ruined a great stay by humiliating my wife over a stain on a towel for which we were charged $150,000 COP. When I asked about the charge, the man at the desk confronted my wife with a picture of a stained towel and a discussion of how he thought the towel got that way. My wife was so humiliated that she cried on the spot. Never in my life have I spent $500 per night to have a front desk male worker discuss sex with my wife. This was humiliation plus sexual harassment! When I escalated my complaint to the authorities n site manager I was offered an explanation of their policy instead of an attempt to make things right. Also for American and European tourists, beware, this hotel is in the middle of a 24hr red light district! Gross! Furthermore the night time guard watches videos all night at max volume which can be heard loudly in the rooms due to an open concept design that allows noise into the guest rooms. Also the breakfast was gross and very dry. NOT FIT FOR AMERICANS and EUROPEANS who are expecting a luxury boutique hotel experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The decor was modern and clean. Supper high ceilings, beautiful pools both on the main level and on the roof. The staff was also very friendly.

Hidden Gem in Old Town Cartagena
We had an amazing stay at Casa Clevar. The location is wonderful, close to everything that Cartagena has to offer, yet its location is still quiet and tranquil. The architecture of the building is stunning, with beautiful flowers and greenery everywhere. However, the true gem is the staff. Despite my limited Spanish skills, I always felt welcomed and accommodated. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was well taken care of, including amazing breakfasts. If visiting Cartagena, don't hesitate to stay here.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful, they offer two pool areas. The boutique hotel is quiet and private. The breakfast included was delicious with a few options to chose from. I would stay here again and I would definitely recommend Casa Claver.
