The GLK is a nice facility, and the staff is wonderful, from the desk agents to the cleaning staff. It is a narrow and tall building, and the stairs are really steep, so you will probably take the lift. The breakfast buffet is very good, and includes a samovar with genuine Turkish Rize tea. The rooms and interior look a bit worn, so I won't give my review a 5 ✬ rating, but 4 1/2 ✬ would be correct.
Note: it is a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet tram station. Add that time and more to your outings.
Warning: the restaurants on the street facing the hotel are all very high price and tourist-oriented. I do not know where you can find local restaurants in the Sultanahmet District (maybe there are none).

"Hotel was very close to airport walking distance through the underground metro tunnel. Room was big and clean. Beds were very comfortable except the extra mobile bed was noisy and not comfortable at all mattress too thin."
