Český Krumlov Castle dates back to the 13th century, when it was established by the Lords of Krumlov. It has been a residence of the aristocratic Rosenberg, Habsburg and Schwarzenberg families.
The entire castle complex covers an area of 17 acres (7 hectares) and consists of 40 buildings set around five courtyards.
