It was very close to most places we wanted to visit. We like the convenience of filtered water and bags of ice on each floor. The only real issue was the amount of noise you could hear from outside even on the 4th floor. Maybe because of the age of the building.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the downtown action. Nice staff. There were a lot of little things that kept me from giving 5 stars. Glasses in common areas would sit for MANY HOURS - overnight (bar drinks brought to 2nd fl balcony/lobby) would be there until 12n or later the next day. Saw staff walk by them. Ran out of caffeinated coffee for common area nespresso machine - FOR OUR ENTIRE STAY (4 days). Tightening up mgmt a little would make this place awesome.

The staff were nice but the hotel was loud all the time. Our room was dark and kind of small, and we could hear everything outside in the courtyard (people drinking/wedding reception). I’m sure it’s because the building is old but I didn’t sleep well hearing every conversation and door close.

We had a water leak in the bathroom on New Years Eve. They moved us to a new comparable room right way. The staff was very helpful. The bartenders made delicious cocktails and the food was excellent.

A wonderful and unique benefit is the gourmet coffee and water station on every floor and the record players and album selections in the Suites. A welcome drink and a beautiful glass of wine at Little Palm were also appreciated.

I’ve stayed in this lovely hotel several times. Staff is lovely. It is time to update the mattresses. My first room had a mattress that was sunken in and felt like a spring was in my back. The staff were gracious to move me to another room. It was only slightly better.

I stayed in a bi-level suite which was a great setup, however it faced an outdoor patio courtyard and was extremely noisy. Also, I had a package that was offered through Expedia and the discount described upon check-in (food and bev charged to room) was not what was given upon checkout. The hotel was very sketchy when I inquired. I would not recommend signing up for any inclusive room packages.

The rooms with two king beds are amazing. The bathrooms are very large and modern. It has a very nice coffee shop and restaurant that was convenient. I have stayed here several times. I will continue to stay here on my trips to Charleston.
