Short walk from the station and then into the city centre. Quiet beside the canal. Convenient to use gym, pool and spa facilities. Not the most comfortable bed, adequate, repetitive breakfast (just two cups of coffee, only fat-free yogurt, limited fruit options, same cooked food every day), which is why we chose to eat elsewhere in the evening!!

Mixed bag, okay for the cheap price, but let down by a number of issues: Checkout was at 11 but we were suddenly woken just after 9 by the cleaner coming into our room. Not a pleasant way to wake up. Room facilities were basic: no internet, just regular TV, no bedside lighting. Room itself was comfortable and clean. Non-mixer taps on the sink and bath/shower meant scalding hot water came from the hot tap. Breakfast was included in the price and good quality, but the bowls weren't properly cleaned. Didn't try the spa, so can't help there. Not as nice on the inside as the fancy exterior would want you to believe.

Excellent location. Close to Bus station, if required. Brilliant for shopping and hotel within five minutes walk of shops. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel pool and gym were excellent. Our room was large and mattress comfortable. Towels changed every day. Breakfast was hot and renewed frequently. Would have been good to have had the option of boiled eggs etc but that is my only criticism! Overall excellent value for money. Definitely recommended!

Location is convenient for walking into the city centre. The swimming pool was lovely. Breakfast was standard full english, with some cereal options. Room was not soundproof at all, could hear noise from the room above and rooms either side. Could also hear everyone else on the corridor coming and going from their rooms. Housekeeping woke us up saturday morning hoovering just before 9am then could hear the cleaner knocking on everyone doors to see if they could come and clean the rooms. Bed was not very comfortable, probably needs new mattresses as it was very uneven and sank in the middle.

We have stayed several time in the Mill Spa..The Customer Service is beyond Excellent,from Reception,to bar Staff,to Waiters,to Cleaning Staff.Nothing is too much trouble for any of them.The rooms are spotless,very comfortable,the Spa,pool,jacuzzi,saunas,are a very welcome added bonus. What can I say about the breakfast,excellent quality,as much as you can eat,all included in the price.This is our "Go to Place''Our home from home.Thats what it feels like when we stay there,like being at home,but with all the other lovely added extras.We will return again,and again...Very highly recommend the Mill Hotel and Spa,if you haven't been yet..PLEASE DO,you won't be disappointed.I would give 10 stars if I could. Sue Furlong.

Lovely hotel, in easy walkung distance to the train a d bus station as well as the city centre and restaurants. Fantastic breakfast and bar. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A little concerned about booking a hotel outside the city walls? Don't be. This new hotel is excellent with the two best pubs within a few minutes walk ( or stagger). Car parking easy, it straddles the canal, too sides overlook the canal the other two looking out ( no real view either way). Chester walls and centre is maybe 7 minutes walk ( no hills). 20m.pool ( guesstimate) and a decent gym add to the options.

Lovely hotel and staff. Good facilities with the pool and sauna. We had dinner in the restaurant with was very good and reasonably priced considering the menu. A short walk to the shopping area. Would recommend if you traveling to chester

The spa access was incredible and really worth paying for, easily walkable both from the train station and into chester city centre. A great base to explore the city from.
