"Front desk staff were friendly and efficient in their duties. The physical building looks like "they" are in the process of fixing things up. "They" have a long way, however, to go. The room I was assigned had a comfy bed which was a highlight and the shower was hot. The security latch on the hallway door was broken off. The patio door would lock but needed a security bar. The walls in the room had numerous holes and spots where other things had been fastened when the room was configured...

"At first i was quite upset about a few things and i gave unfavorable reviews but the manager went above and beyond to rectify the situations and i am now pleased overall The hotel is under renovation which is good as this is one of the oldest hotels around so it is definitely overdue. The staff have been polite and efficient. The area outside needs attention as far as updating and some landscaping but it is not a dump. Wellington right now is a nightmare-- torn up pretty much all the way down...

"Upon arrival I was greated by the kindest, sincerest front desk person I have ever encountered. It was like coming home even though I have never been here before. The history of the building is fascinating, and the way the owners incorporated the old into the current is genius and respectful of the history. You get more then a bed for the night, you get an experience. This may be the first time in my adult life that I have felt like a true 'guest' at a lodging and not just a credit card."
