"Place was amazing. Just know what you’re getting into. First off know that you’re off the grid. And there is absolutely zero cell phone signal and while there are certain locations on the ranch that does have Wi-Fi my particular cabin did not. Secondly, you do have to go on a 3 mile dirt road after traveling approximately 13 to 15 miles off the beaten path. I particularly didn’t mind this. In fact this is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a place to where I could shoot photography for the stars a place that was dark and so having an area that was off, the beaten path was exactly what I wanted. They had a restaurant there that had absolutely fantastic food. They also had a pool which I did not use. Apparently, according to what I read, you can fly into there if you should so shall choose. As there is an airfield. When you read about their history, you can take in the fact that they once partnered with the Shelby corporation to establish the Terilinga racing league. There’s a lot of history there. There’s also hiking which I did take part in do so at your own risk.
Outside of the lodge, you’re about 20-40 minutes from Big Bend national Park. There’s also a big bend State park. Furthermore, there’s a Terilinga ghost town which has fantastic ice cream and a place called the starlight theater that had live music too!
Overall, if you know what you’re getting into it’s a wonderful place to go and I quite literally enjoyed my stay there And I am eager to go and return."
Longhorn Ranch Motel - Full Hook-Up RV Park with Power and Sewer
10/10 Excellent
"It’s a dark sky National Park, so there’s very little lights and we could not find the RV park but the owners directed us and sat out by the road with their vehicle lights on so we could find them! They went above and beyond!! Highly recommend. "

"This was my mom's "Bucket List" trip to Big Bend, so we wanted to let her pick someplace special, and this was it. Honestly, the trip wouldn't have been the same if we'd stayed elsewhere. First, the location was SO close to the park on one side, and town on the other...but had plenty of space/privacy around it, with views of the mountains, sunset, and the fascinating ruin of the old Terlingua schoolhouse (photos of the sunset coming through it were beautiful). The house itself is beautiful—my mom went for the local, warm-colored decorating scheme. It has plenty of character while being spotlessly clean and well appointed. Personally, I loved the many different indoor and outdoor places to sit and entertain—we tried to use them all and still didn't! A lovely place for a big family, or a few sets of friends/couples to spend time together. It is very accurately described, with clear instructions. Do note that the three spaces (and bedrooms) have separate entries; this worked well for our family, which has bigger (11-13) kids who we put in the main house, my mom in the attached house, and my husband and me in the Casita. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly, highly recommend!!!!"
