Chwaka Holidays

We have just had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is huge but so tastefully done and built in a way that if you want to find quiet you can, if you want beach you can, if you want activties there are many on offer, it has something for everyone. The rooms are lovely and it is incredible to believe that you are in a country where so many people do not have power in their homes or running clean water and yet this hotel has 3 beautiful and immaculate pools, as well as numerous rooms with a swim up pool. We were fortunate to have one of these and loved it, it was so lovely. The staff need a special mention, nothing is ever too much trouble, they are just the lovliest of people and then there is the super animation team providing water aerobics, beach parties and volleyball for those who seek something to do. The hotel seems to be a destintaion in particulalry for French and Polish tourists and so there were both French and Polish speakers in the animation team, as well as English of course. This was a brilliant hotel.

The property was beautiful. We stayed in a beachfront villa Y3. Everyone was amazing from Tess at the front desk to Emile and Esther in the restaurants. They made our anniversary very special. So thankful. Omer on checkout was amazing as well.

The property was clean and we had a very nice view of the beach. I love the fact that we had a private swimming pool. The staff are super lovely, welcoming and friendly. The food menu needs more choice please. The mattress i was sleeping on was very hard and uncomfortable but i did speak with the manager face to face and him that it needs changing. I think its something they need to look at seriously. The shower room would be nice if it had a glass door so that the water is not everywhere on the floor. overall it was a lovely first time experience in zanzibar and we will definitely come back again.

Food was excellent - particularly prawn grill nights, service very attentive. All inclusive took the pressure off finding food locally. While the beach was cleaned each day, there is an unfortunate amount of rubbish from the locals - not something the hotel can control. More access to water would have been good. Many minor repairs are needed, like taps, locks air con, but as they say in Africa pole pole. Great stay, we enjoyed the hotel.

Very nice accommodation, everything in walking distance. Beautiful beach below the restaurant. Food excellent.Had a problem with the air con but was upgraded. Hotel uses European electric sockets, not Tanzanian sockets. Can get adaptors from Reception. But bring European adaptors.
