The concierge service was exceptional. Helped us with maps, setting up tours, catching the right bus( actually brought us out side and made sure we got on the right bus) went the extra mile with everything. The front desk people were not as helpful especially since I booked through expedia. I feel like if i booked directly I would have had gotten better service from them (basically sorry that’s what you booked and it can’t be changed.) The restaurant was expensive with not enough options. Small portions with very high prices. Only went there because we were tiered and needed something to eat fast. There are plenty of options within walking distance make the effort to go somewhere else. Room was clean but very small. Not enough plugs. There was actually an extension cord in the closet under the carpet that was plugged into the tv, not sure if that was really safe. Not sure on other rooms but the 14th floor rooms are in need of updating. All in All this is not a bad hotel but I may look for a more updated place if I went again.

I'll start with the 'dislike'. Everything in the room was clean but the carpet needed a vacuum badly. Its like the surfaces were dusted onto the carpet &then forgot to vacuum. I also ordered room service twice & was twice disappointed by the food considering the description & price & both times items were left off or not as described. The crab cakes tasted like & was the consistency of mushy cat food. Also, the parking rates are astronomically expensive. What I loved about Westin was the front staff. They made me feel so safe & welcome & helped me with any question I had & did so with a genuine smile. I had no worries for my solo trip knowing they were there. I loved the overall atmosphere as well & felt like the price was reasonable for all the amenities offered. I would stay there again but I won't spend money on room service or parking.

Make sure that you check in early to get the best rooms! I had to go to DC to for work two weekends in a row. The first weekend was excellent and because I checked in at 3:34pm. The second weekend was mid because I had a series of work engagements that forced me to check in at 9:30pm. This second weekend, I was put in a room that had a few problems. The shower water did not drain. There were some parts of the wall that needed to be re-painted. Lastly, it sounded like the room was right beneath the speakers of the night club on the top floor. The room was also right in front of the elevator. That said, if you are a light sleeper, I suggest letting the staff know when you are checking in so you won't have the same problem that I did.

I have stayed there a number of times in the last year but this time, it felt a little run down - my room had damaged fittings and also a damaged lock on the door (not something to inspire confidence!) - this time round I was glad I was only staying one night.

Courteous staff, easy check-in/checkout, and clean rooms. It was a great place for an overnight stay.
