"First off, the woman who opened up the villa was extremely rude and only showed my daughter in law around the villa, insisting everyone else should wait outside. Afer 15 minutes, I'd had enough and went in telling this lady we were coming in. Added to this, the smoke alarms throughout the villa did not work, and as there was no way of securing the separate apartments, we had to close the metal shutters at night. With no smoke alarms, this is unbelievably dangerous. The facilities were adequate...

"Property exterior was quite run down-also had dilapidated farm building attached. The interior does not match the exterior at all. We only found out a week before we travelled that there was a hire charge of 20 euro per room for bedding for stays of 7 days or less, had to pay 60 euro more on arrival for our 7 night stay . This is omitted from property details, I think this charge is outrageous. On positive note- the defective oven was replaced in 2 days and Pierre`s wine is excellent."

The village of Margon does not have any shops though there are lots at both Pouxelles and Roujon each just 2km away. Margon does have an excellent restaurant. Plenty of good bathrooms tho the stairs to the 2 en suites on the top floor were very steep.Enjoyed the pool and boules pitch when we could (weather a bit iffy). "Loved this boutique hotel with modern design. Great location on top of the mount. If you travel by train with luggage, it's a good hike up to the top! The service was the absolute best, so welcoming, friendly and helpful for dining and touring recommendations. There is a food market/hall nearby with lots of dining options at lunchtime. "
