Coral Bay Beach

Coral Bay Beach which includes a beach

Go parasailing over this scenic region of sandy beach and limestone cliffs before visiting the site of a Late Bronze Age settlement.

Coral Bay Beach is a scenic cove of sand nestled between cliffs outside Paphos. With lifeguards on duty and gentle waves, it is a safe area for kids to swim. You’ll find many hotels and restaurants in this lively area, as well as a 13th-century settlement at the northern point of the beach.

Locate a spot to put down your towels and bags on the busy beach. Enjoy a picnic and watch people swimming, sunbathing and building sand castles. Visit during the low season, before and after the summer months, if you want to avoid the crowds.

The area has a resort where you can stay and book watersport activities. Go diving to discover the colorful fish of the Mediterranean Sea. Try parasailing, floating high above the water in a parachute that is towed by a boat. Rent a Jet Ski or a sail boat and enjoy a brisk breeze on the water.

Go for a walk along the beach to explore the sea caves and rocky limestone cliffs beyond the sandy area. Just north of the beach is the Maa-Paleokastro 13th-century settlement, which was fully excavated in the 1980s. Visit the museum to learn about the Late Bronze Age civilization that lived here.

Rent beach chairs and umbrellas from vendors along the shoreline and relax in the sun for hours. Visit the snack bar for snacks and cold drinks. Go for a cool dip in the Mediterranean Sea for a respite from the heat. Take young kids for a paddle in the water in the afternoon, when the lifeguards are on duty. Watch the sunset from your beach chair before making your way to the restaurants and bars of the area.

Drive to Coral Bay Beach 5 miles (8 kilometers) northwest of Paphos. The picturesque journey past rivers and sea views should take about 20 minutes. The area has a large parking lot. Buses also run regularly between the beach and the city.

Not the best beach (as I think we found that on our last day) but nice and safe for kids and easy to access. I did notice that the beach did have life guards but also had a disability chair to allow access to the beach and the water.

Easy to get to on the bus. Quite busy. Caught the minibus on to Agio Georgio which was a lovely little harbour

Walk along the main street with choice of restaurants & shops. Not immediately obvious if you park by the bay itself (unless you've driven through it)
