"There was no at the reception desk. The property manager accused me of lying about my kids because there were 2 single beds joined but we were 3 people. My daughter had to sleep in the middle of the 2 beds . The pillows were uncomfortable . There was 1roll of toilet paper. I had to go buy my own. I had no internet service. The kitchen was somewhat clean but you could see their storage room that was messy Nd made kitchen aesthetically unappealing. The night table and desk shelf was dusty ."

"The place is clean BUT, all the necessities that you needed is not provided, no soap, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, paper towel etc. Pool is close at 8pm, what the heck your on vacation and after a long day outside you want to relax on the pool but it is close. And one more thing no air conditioning, you have to pay 5euro/day. All of these should have provided with no extra cost. "

"The house was lovely and the weather (in Oct) wonderful - temperatures of 25/30 deg C all week! The sliding windows made it easy to step out and enjoy the outside space. "Excellent hotel. I have a gluten sensitivity and am also a diabetic on a blood sugar sensor. I am nearly impossible to feed. There were abundant gf options on the breakfast buffet, and I was also able to get a hot gf breakfast prepared for me. The omelets were delicious, and I could get a cappuccino every morning, all included. The wait staff was knowledgeable about gluten and kept me safe. I got a hot stone massage at the hotel spa. It was excellent, and inexpensive. In general, the hotel is beautiful, and architecturally interesting. My room was very comfortable, and the view from my room is in the hotel brochure. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Porta de Castro was a wonderful stay. The only thing is if you want quiet, the street it is located on is busy and quite a bit of honking. Didn’t bother me, popped in some ear buds at night. The breakfast and staff were amazing!!! I felt very welcomed and the staff helped me with any questions, plus lots of suggestions on what to do in the areas. Very convenient to walk to almost any place, including the train station. "
