About this property

Canvas Bell Tent on Working Farm in Historic Laurel Highlands

This is Site #1. Picturesque setting in rural southwestern Pennsylvania. Misty mornings are almost a given in the summer and the limited light pollution in our valley makes for fantastic stargazing. Stretch and stargaze from your deck, or right from your queen size bed with ceiling canvas tent views. Wade into the creek outside your tent door.

Watch animals graze while cooking over an open fire and enjoy a walk in the forest on our forest trails. Enjoy a cup of provided coffee or tea listening to the rushing creek which can be waded in. A full size fold down couch is provided in your canvas tent for one adult or two small children.

Linens/towels/microwave/mini fridge/freezer/coffee pot are included. We will contact you about a complimentary bottle of local wine or purchase our farm fresh eggs and meat for your provided gas grill.

A full-size fold down couch and a twin air mattress in included. Fans and a heater is provided for comfort. Outdoor hot water shower, sink, and composite toilet near tent. Picnic table, gas grill, and hammock are provided alongside the creek. Fire pit with outdoor seating, firewood, and roasting stick provided.

Our family farm is a working farm meaning you may hear sounds of us working on the farm, working with the animals, or the animals themselves. We have an outdoor livestock guardian dog Zeus who is fenced with the animals and you may hear him doing his job of field protection during the night. You might see one of our 4 barn cats (Skittles, Poseidon, Gryf, and Hermione) that freely roam, or a drive-by encounter of our friendly pet black Labrador Kaiya splashing in the creek.

Creekside Haven is a family owned outdoor canvas camp located 25 minutes north of Morgantown, WV and 1.5 hours south of Pittsburgh, PA on a bucolic 100-acre working family farm. Part forest, part field, and miles to roam. Listen to sheep and goats calling and grazing peacefully. A unique and intimate back-to-nature experience surrounded by outstanding natural beauty.

Beautiful
A super comfortable place and so peaceful to get away. Right on the banks of a stream that provides wonderful background. We had a minor issue once we arived, but it was swiflty taken care of by the host. They did everything right. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacations.

Peaceful
My husband and I were looking for a place for the weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Morgantown on a game weekend. We were in the area for a home football game at WVU where our son is a student, and this worked out perfectly! We were able to relax in the morning and walk around the farm before going to the game. The option to purchase breakfast meats and eggs is a fantastic idea. The sausage was delicious. I loved the wine so much I went to the winery and bought more to take back home. Being able to hear the creek while sleeping was very peaceful. We will absolutely be coming back in the spring.

Better than expected
The host had the yert cozy warm when we arrived during an unexpected bout of cold. It was close to Morgantown, less than 15 min from our kid's apartment, 30 min to the Collesium. Farm fresh meat and eggs can be ordered ahead of time and will be in the fridge when you arrive. My 6 year old loved the playground. Lots of clever farm ingenuity throughout. The perfect place to get away for some peace. The creek water is just steps out side the yert and an awesome natural sound machine to help you get a great nights rest. Planning to return when we wont have to leave the property for graduation activities.

Relaxing
I am not a camping girl at all. I booked solely due to its proximity to Morgantown for a football game. I was sobbing on Wednesday when I couldn’t get a car at the airport and couldn’t imagine what I’d do out there with no tv and internet. Turns out it was divine intervention because it was exactly what I’d been needing. The sound of the creek at night was heavenly. I slept over 12 hours one night. The animals were entertaining and the bed was comfortable. This will now be my regular stay anytime we come to Morgantown. I can head back to real city life feeling rested and with a rejuvenated soul.

Ten star glamping
My husband and I have been avid campers for years, but sadly getting a bit older. Setting up and tearing down a campsite just isn’t what we want to do anymore, but didn’t want to give up the part of it we love. So, we decided to start “glamping”. This place was Glamping taken to the next level. Donnie and Nicole were great hosts, who thought of everything when putting together this gem. Mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker!!!! Was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the creek at night, and playing in it in the day. Close enough to the owners incase we needed anything, but far enough away to where we felt like we were the only ones there for miles. What a peaceful, relaxing weekend it was. Will definitely be back.
