"Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam. "Le seul point d’amélioration concerne l’équipement de jardin (chaises, transat...) qui sont hors d’âge et rafistolés. Petit point négatif : la piscine située à l’ombre et donc faiblement réchauffée par le soleil (entre 10:00 du matin et midi). Difficile d’entrer dans l’eau surtout en période de canicule. Mais super-super séjour."

"The house is located pretty much outside any urban noises which was exactly what we wanted. The setting of the house is very well designed. Plenty of space for sports, games, swimming in the lovely swimming pool. Overall, we had a great time staying there. We'll probably book it again in future. "

"Despite some unseasonal cold and wet weather and suffering from colds caught on the ferry from GB we really enjoyed our 2 weeks at L’Abeille Bleue. What made it so great was the warmth of our hosts Didier and Patricia, a most welcoming and generous couple. Didier was so concerned that we understood how the heating system worked (we really needed it!) that he came in twice to check that we understood it. And we also benefitted greatly from gifts of fruit (peaches, apples, figs) and vegetables...

"Upon arrival we were warmely greeted by Jocelyne and Jean Claude who showed us around the cottage. The cottage is very nicely furnished with all you need for a relaxing vacation, It would comfortably accomodate 10 as it is very spacious, there were only 4 of us so we had plenty of space. The kitchen is well equiped with all you would need and a pleasant place to prepare your meals, There is a lovely bathroom downstairs and a second upstairs (which we never used to reduce the amount of cleaning...

"Amazing value for money and location. Really well equipped apartments, spacious balcony and comfy beds. Kitchen didn't have any spare space for storing shopping to make the most of the self catering aspect, but we worked around it. Our apartment overlooked the car park but in fact, it was really quiet, not overlooked by other guests and our balcony had a grear view of the fortress."

"Myself and my family have just returned from our ten day summer holiday at Barbara’s wonderful quaint property. Barbara was more than accommodating from the moment we arrived to the second we departed, a truly fantastic host! The large garden and pool had our 4 year old in his element the entire holiday enabling Mum and Dad plenty of relaxing time to reset. Thank you Barbara again! We’ll treasure this holiday for many years ☺️"

"Restaurant and breakfast were very nice, the staff were very friendly the rooms were comfortable but very small, free parking was good, location was ok most attractions were within a 30 minute drive, however when you get to some of the attractions parking can be a challenge ."
