Florida Breeze - Wildlife Sanctuary

We are a 501-3 animal sanctuary that focuses on critically endangered animals, and also offers permanent houses to many different species of wildlife, and farm animals. We have many different species of animals that you would normally only be able to see at the zoos like our New Guinea singing dog, rock hyraxes, foxes, and Patagonia cavy. Come relax and enjoy the quiet life of county living. We have many animals that you are able to interact with, and we are also right off of Trilby rd where many cyclists enjoy training on some of the rare hills in Florida.

This is a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment with a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. The apartment is about 1000sq feet with all the convences of home. Stay for the night or stay for a couple of weeks!!

Amazing place
Amazed with the cleanliness of the apartment and friendliness of the owners. The apartment is a converted barn/horse stalls and they did a great job making it feel like home away from home. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, and even a crock pot! We toured the sanctuary on our 2nd day and Dona’s passion for the animals shined as she told us about each one and her efforts to conserve some of the species she houses. We cannot wait to return.

So FUN and Dona is phenomenal
Dona is a PROFESSIONAL exotic animal steward. They are not her “pets” though she loves them all. They were surrendered to her and her family by various people who bought them through exotic pet dealers. Do not go here expecting to hold a lemur or play with a fox. It’s an absolutely gorgeous place and an honor just to see the incredible animals she cares for. The apartment is just perfect for a nice little stay and taste of farm life

Most amazing place and people!! We spent a few days at cocoa beach then a 5 day cruise and a night at Florida breeze. Which was the highlight of the entire trip the property is beautiful and well kept and the animals are amazing but what really impressed us was the people. We meet the mom, daughter and granddaughter. They really made us feel welcome and like family we wish we would have just spent the week there. This property is an absolute must see!!

Wonderful place to stay, feed animals & relax!
We had a great time staying here for a month. Dona and her mother were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The farm/wildlife rescue is WONDERFUL, and we loved feeding Miss Piggy, Lance & Lucy, Clyde and the rest. Internet was a bit slow at first, but now that Starlink is up, it’s just fine. We loved that we were able to have our dog & cats with us. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again when we’re in the area!

Base camp for visiting family.
This was our second stay. The location is central to our children and granchildren. We like that this rental is very dog friendly and our grandchildren can see and experience a the animals and life on a working family farm. Our grandbabies wear boots when they walk about as a true farmer should.

Beautiful property, great customer service, but lacked maintenance
My family and I came here for the night while I was working out of town. We were all so excited to stay here based off reviews and pictures. Dona, was great with communication and very sweet and welcoming in person. She had the best little country accent and When we arrived her lovely dogs greeted us at the car and were all very friendly with us and our two kids. The farm was beautiful and well maintained, however The apartment needed a lot of maintenance and updating. Due to finding a very large black widow and her massive amount of egg sacks immediately upon entering the screened in porch leading into the apartment, we were very uncomfortable staying and were worried that our two year old would get bit if not paying attention. We ended up booking a room at a nearby hotel instead of staying at the farm. We did not ask for a refund as it was our choice not to stay.

Best Kept Secret
We were in Dade City for the annual Bug Jam. We were looking to add to our experience by staying in a quaint VRBO instead of a cookie-cutter hotel, as we have done in the past. This place far exceeded our expectations. Loved being one with nature and enjoying all the animals at the farm. Our dog enjoyed it too. She now has lots of new animal friends. Thank you Dona and Mom for welcoming us and for a great little getaway!

Perfect in every way!
The "farm apartment" looks exactly as the photos show. Dona and her mom, Aleta, were the perfect hostesses....but allowed a perfectly private stay. I am retired from working at a zoo....so if you love animals....this is a dream come true! I needed to find a place to stay while I waited for the closing on my new home...and a place that would accept my two cats, as well. This beautiful farm is "out in the country" but was still about 30 minutes away from my new home. My GPS worked great and got me right to the farm with no problem. Honestly, the next time I need a "little getaway" I would totally want to stay here again. As a single woman, I felt perfectly safe, too. I have friends from out of state, and I told them, you don't want to stay at my house....Stay on the FARM!! This was my first VRBO experience, and I just cannot stop raving about it! Dona, Aleta, I feel as if I have made my first New Friends in my new home state! Thank you for everything! AND...the beautiful roses on the table were such a classy touch!

A little bit of the countryside
Dona and her mother were very welcoming to this very pleasant house. The property is not the most luxurious but has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. Built on a farm it is surrounded by fields with horses, mules, hens, long-horned cattle. Grey fox and racoons were seen and there are deer and possums near by. Birds galore of various species can be seen on the property or nearby when walking. The farm dogs are lovely, friendly and lazy. Situated near Dade City the farm is within surprisingly easy driving of beaches to the west, paddling north and west, walks in the wooded parks alongside the Withlacoochee are only minutes away, Dare I say it that there are theme parks east and south of here, the nearest being only 1 1/2 hours drive. There is plenty to see and do. Dade City has some lovely eating places, as well as the usual chain restaurants. In the old part of the town we can recommend the Mexican restaurant who's name escapes me (sorry). The drive-in cinema is worth a visit of an evening. So book up and come along, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect, quiet location!
Dona and her family are the most patient, hospitable and friendly people. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning on coming back next year. At just an hour away or less from most locations, we enjoyed our vacation to the fullest and saw so many things Florida has to offer.

Simply Amazing
Plain and simple, an amazing time. Dona's passion for what she does on the farm and her hospitality are second to NONE. The apartment is spotless, and walking around the farm with friendly horses and cows is an amazing experience. Want to try a ride? Dona was more than accommodating to fit in some time around our schedules. Close enough to shops, stores, and Tampa, its a beautiful break from the hectic city. Walking around at night and listening to the frogs and sounds of the night is a real treat, If you are contemplating this stay, stop worrying and click "book it". You will NOT regret it.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. The hostess, Dona went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The property is peaceful and tranquil and quaint and charming and comfortable. It is a great space. Dona took extra special care in hosting us and taking me and my 9 year old niece around to help with the animals and my niece learned so many things about grooming and feeding and overall care. This was a weekend my family will not soon forget and we look forward to visiting again! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Very charming and great for a small family!
Dona was amazing from start to finish. Taught us all so much about the farm and the animals on it. Learned each horses name and even got to give two of them a bath! I have two young daughters (7 & 4) and they absolutely loved it. We all got to ride King (one of the horses on the farm) and she taught my girls how to steer and basic commands! (Us adults as well) very quiet and a beautiful piece of land. The house was the perfect size for a family of four. Everything we needed was there! We even had some milk and cereal there for the girls! Will definitely come back!!! Close to some great restaurants and just a few minutes from grocery store!
