"Nice little cottage surrounded by forest but minutes from downtown Amal. A few extra steps to book, but nothing difficult. Modern interior, fully stocked kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and coffeemaker, king size bed, strong AC in the main room, nice hot shower. Bring your own linens and towels, they are not provided. Indoor bathroom has a camp toilet, easy enough to figure out. FYI, parking is about 80 feet from the cottage, no driveway or sidewalk. I would definitely stay again."

"Wir waren als Familie mit 2 Kindern (5 + 7) und unserem kleinen Hund Mitte Oktober für eine Woche zu Gast in diesem Ferienhaus. Die Lage des Hauses zwischen all den wunderschönen Reservaten und Parks ist super! Viele beeindruckende Wanderwege sind innerhalb von 30 - 60 Minuten erreichbar. Auch die Grenze zu Norwegen ist nicht weit. In Mellerud gibt es zahlreiche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das Haus selbst ist klein und gemütlich. Es ist alles vorhanden was man so braucht. Auch die Küche ist gut...

"We were lucky with the weather, it was sunny and warm every day, the little cottage is right on the edge of the lake so the views are fantastic. There was a good phone signal so I could get my emails. There was electricity, a fridge etc. As expected washing was done in the lake which was warm and easy. The toilet was in an outside shed and was very clean and civilised Swimming was great, the water was really quite warm. A few other people on the lake but mainly very peaceful and at night it was...

"Trevlig stuga med närhet till allt. Ligger smidigt vid havet :) tyvärr är den i behov av lite fix. Diskmaskinen håller på att rasa ihop. Övre hyllan trasig. Det tror jag visserligen kommer åtgärdas inför sommaren. Bäddsoffan var inte skön men det är de ju sällan. Missade vid bokningen att det inte fanns tv. det saknade vi. Annars supertrevligt! "

"Amal is a good location for exploring the lakes. There a couple of ok places to eat out, but not as many as I'd have liked. Definitely a base rather than a location. Hotel is in an older building and decorated sympathetically. Our room had plenty of space, but no tea or coffee making facilities."

The only concern was on our first night stay when the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm and there was no one there to direct the guests on what to do or where to go. After half an hour someone finally came and turned the alarm off. There was no response from the fire department!"

The only concern was on our first night stay when the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm and there was no one there to direct the guests on what to do or where to go. "A charming little hotel with beautiful public spaces and a very nice breakfast. The room was comfortable with a reading chair and spacious walk-in shower. Staff was pleasant and personable. Excellent location on the public square with plenty of dining options and shopping nearby. Loved my stay here!"
