Great getaway home!
This house was perfect for our needs. Walking distance to the Damascus Diner and the Distillery. The house was so nice and cozy. The owners have done a great job with the decor. Everything we needed was supplied. Well done! Will definitely go back.

Relaxing Stay, Close to Hiking
This property was oh so cozy and have everything we needed. We were so comfy, and the bed was very comfortable in the larger bedroom. It was close to great hiking which we took advantage of! Love it! We have family nearby and will stay again in the future.

Nice Little House
The house location was good for us, as our trip revolved around riding on the VA Creeper Trail. The house has a cute interior, with 2 bedrooms. The house has been remodeled on the inside to make it feel very cozy. If I were in the area again, I would stay in the house.

Relaxing Stay
Cute cottage had everything in the kitchen you could need. The decor was well done and felt like home. The master bedroom is large with walk in closet and good size bath. The second room was great for one person and comfortable. Right around the corner from a great coffee shop for breakfast, close to the Creeper Trail and not far from Abingdon. Lots to do in the area and easy to find. We didn't use the fire pit but would have been nice.

Mini vacation
Conveniently located for Virginia Creeper Bike Trail experience and hiking trails. Cute little cottage, clean & well stocked. Property Manager readily available when contacted. Two recommendations: 1)guest bedroom mattress needs upgrade 2) remove poison ivy around tree at grill site/outside light plug.

We are so sorry!
The house was lovely. Had everything we needed as advertised. Unfortunately, the town of Damascus was devastated by a flood due to Hurricane Helene. We lost power about 9:40am on 9/27. Also, lost water around the same time. We had to evacuate around 5:30pm on 9/27. We apologize for not being able to wash the dishes or complete some of the other check out procedures due to the circumstances. We are devastated for the community of Damascus as they have suffered catastrophic damage in town. Luckily the house was out of harms way at the time of our departure. The town and people of Damascus are amazing and we wish them well in the recovery process. We got to speak to several locals and many of them were worried that our trip was ruined. Which obviously was of no concern to us, but speaks to the people in the area.

Central location for hiking and biking!
The house was perfect for a three day getaway in the mountains. It was very comfortable for two couples that needed to rest after a busy day exploring the area. The house was clean with a kitchen better stocked than my own. It’s the perfect location for biking the creeper trail. Close enough to downtown Damascus, you can bike to a local bike shop and be transported to the beginning of the trail. If you enjoy hiking you will be centrally located to multiple options.

Beautiful cottage!
My friend and I were in Damascus to hike at Greyson Highlands. We grabbed this VRBO last minute and couldn’t believe how much we lucked out! This place was really nice, very clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the home was well stocked with new towels, Keurig pods, cleaning supplies and travel size toiletries. It was immaculate, and had all the comforts of home. Lots of streaming options on the tv, and a nice large driveway to park our car. Super close to everything! It’s evident that the owners take a lot of pride in this rental. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Damascus cottage
The property was as pictured, for the most part surface clean. In the 2nd bathroom the towel racks were not affixed to the wall well and you could not hang a towel on them. We had a real problem with the kitchen sink not draining. 12+ hours after contacting the property manager, we did get a return call with a promise of a plumber to come by and look at the problem. He tried and was unable to fix the slow drain. He left with a promise he would return the next day with other equipment, sadly we did not see or hear from him. The property did not have a dishwasher so we had no recourse but to try to use the sink and wait for the water to slowly drain out; usually taking at least 2-3 hours. We loved the fire pit and the gas grill was a life saver. All in all would stay again ONLY if the drainage problem was fully rectified.

Cute and homey
We spent the weekend here with another couple and this house was well-suited to our needs. Although the location looks a bit sketchy, it’s very quiet, we had no security concerns and we were an easy/safe walk or bike ride to town. We enjoyed mornings on the front porch or next to the fire pit watching the birds (catbirds in the front shrubs were very entertaining as was the nest of phoebes on the kitchen porch). The kitchen is nicely stocked with plenty of dishes and flatware, and a variety of cooking pots/pans/dishes. The beds were quite comfortable, as were the couches. We also appreciated high quality TP and paper towels! Overall the house was very clean. The only downside is the disparity between the bedrooms. The master suite is quite spacious whereas the second bedroom is so small that there is only a few inches between the wall and one side of the bed. There is no closet either. We stayed in this room because we are small people, and we appropriated the laundry room for our closet. The bathroom shower was also tiny, which might present a problem for anyone over 5’6”. But the room is very cute and airy and it worked just fine for us. There is no dishwasher, which was not a deal breaker for us. The small kitchen makes good use of all available space. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and cute
We stayed here for the weekend with another couple. The good: athough the area appears a bit sketchy, it is very quiet and it’s an easy and safe walk/bike ride into town. We enjoyed sitting on the porch or the side yard each morning, watching catbirds and a nest of phoebes on the kitchen porch. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of dishes, flatware, cooking pots/pans, along with spices/seasonings and baggies/plastic wrap. The living room furniture was very comfortable, as were the beds. The master bedroom and bath are lovely and large, We appreciated the thick towels, plush TP and good quality paper towels! The not-as-good: There isn’t a dishwasher, which didn’t bother us but might be a deal breaker for some. There’s quite a disparity between the bedrooms. We slept in the smaller bedroom because we’re not very big people. It’s pretty close quarters (only a few inches between bed and one wall). Although there isn’t a closet, there are hooks for hanging things. We managed just fine by appropriating some of the laundry room space, but some might be unhappy with that arrangement. The bathroom for this bedroom is not en suite, but it has plenty of room. The shower, however, is tiny and anyone who is tallish and/or large might have a hard time turning around in it. My husband and I are under 5’6” so it didn’t present a problem for us. All things considered, we greatly enjoyed our stay and felt very much at home. Would definitely stay here again

Cute and Comfortable Home
Home was clean and had everything we needed and more. Really appreciated the small touches - charging ports at each bedside, snacks, wood and kindling for fire pit, even an umbrella! Conveniently located near Creeper Trail and Abingdon’s Barter Theatre. Truly a comfortable home away from home!

While there was an issue with this cottage when we checked in, no fault of anyone but the water had frozen due to extreme cold weather, our local contact and the owners went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and would enjoy our vacation. These people are amazing and we will be coming back!

Fantastic stay in Damascus
The cottage was the perfect home base for our stay in Damascus. It was close to everything the area has to offer and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We fell in love with the area and would not hesitate to stay at the cottage if we're in the area again.
