Elk Creek Retreat is a brand new two bedroom (both master bedrooms), two bath cabin on a rushing trout stream and 8 acres. If you are looking for a stream side cabin you will not find a better location anywhere. Elk Creek Retreat is located on Elk Creek which has excellent trout fishing, is a State stocked trout stream, and is rated as the second cleanest stream in all of North Carolina. Open the windows and fall asleep to the sound of the stream which runs directly behind the cabin. Amenities include hot tub, Wi-Fi, fireplace, grill, outdoor fire pit, and plenty of decking that overlooks the stream. The location is convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock both within about a 25 minute drive.

Quiet location in the mountain
The cabin is located on a private drive with 3 other cabins. The satellite based internet is capable of streaming on the TVs and phones. The speed of the internet is pretty good as long as the satellite dish is not obstructed. The creek out back was great and our dogs loved playing in the water. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get into town on the long winding road. Overall, this cabin is well worth the time to spend inside or travel around the mountains.

Great place to vacation!
We love Deep Gap and were delighted to find this cabin! It’s on beautiful property, decorated nicely, spacious, clean plus had all the amenities of home. We loved the privacy, large yard, stream for fishing and the hot tub on the porch! Looking forward to coming back!

State Park Adventure
This cabin was the perfect location for exploring many of the NC state parks in this part of the state, though the location of the cabin and surrounding area was so beautiful we hated leaving it everyday to go out hiking, but very much enjoyed the front and back porch for relaxing when we returned. The cabin was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. Great layout for two separate adults or two couples. The kitchen was well appointed and comfortable. We absolutely loved it!!

Wonderful stay at the Cabin by the Creek
My husband, son, dogs and I enjoyed a weekend at the cabin. We mostly stayed down by the creek trying to fish, skip rocks and float on the inflatables. The cabin was clean, well stocked and private. Kitchen & bathrooms had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, soap, hair dryer and clean bedding. Our phones had no service but we didn't care. We will definitely come back!

Soothing river sounds
6th VRBO we've stayed in since May and this is the first that had satellite and therefore, REAL FOX News - Thank Goodness!!! Loved sitting on the back porch listening to the water. Loved the 4 football fields of mowed grass out front for our dogs to run and play and twice get to chase deer. Clean, beautifully decorated, had everything we needed.

A Great Stay
This is by far the best cabin we've stayed in. The drive in was easy, it had a nice big yard which was great for our dogs. There were other cabins near by but they were not that close. We loved the creek , the dogs especially. We spent a lot of time on the back deck and sitting by a fire at night. The cabin was clean and well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing that would make the cabin perfect is if there were a gate to the steps going down from the deck. Would have been easier to contain the dogs. We just blocked it off with chairs. The drive into Boone and Blowing Rock wasn't bad. We will definitely stay again.

4th of July hideout
This place was very clean and quiet. We wanted to escape the 4th of July fireworks, and we found the perfect spot. The house had all the amenities we needed, including items for our dogs. Floating in the creek was amazing, and we loved the provided floaties. We are already making plans for our next trip back.

Perfect cabin
This is our second time staying at this cabin. We love the location and amenities. Perfect for our small family. We love the layout of the cabin. Had fun in the creek and enjoyed some local fishing. Elk Creek was a Retreat
The house was perfect for my wife and I as well as Deuce, our dog. Right on the creek where I caught a trout on my first cast. Loved listening to the water in the morning as I drank my coffee, excellent local coffee by the way. Great location for Boone and Blowing Rock. Just don’t take Jake’s Mountain Road, didn’t see the note beforehand. Will come back in the fall!!

Great weekend anniversary trip
It was really nice. It felt like being in the middle of nowhere the closest Dollar General and Walmart is about 30 minutes away but the quietness was worth it. The only downside was no Verizon phone service but the upside no one called me. Beautiful and relaxing place to stay.

Splendid!
We loved our family weekend getaway to this peaceful spot. The immaculate cabin had everything we needed to prepare meals which was appreciated. We loved sitting by the creek as well as relaxing in the hottub. We normally don't watch TV on vacation, but did want to see some of the March Madness games this weekend and the cabin had full access to TV/cable. Good communication with owner as well. It is worth while to get groceries at the Food Lion as it is 20+ minutes on secondary roads to get to the cabin is it saves time if you just want to relax at the cabin and not have to drive 40+ minutes round trip to pick up food. Great place and would definitely stay again!

Long Weekend Getaway
This is our second time staying with this host. Different cabin same property. These cabins are well stocked and almost brand new. Washer/Dryers, hot tub, and the fire pit make this a great little retreat. Not to mention it’s rather secluded and right next to Elk Creek and a short drive to Boone.

This cabin sits by a stream that is pretty loud, which I loved. I cracked my window to let it lull me to sleep. The beds were comfy. The fireplace was the easiest one to operate I’ve ever experienced. Visited Boone & West Jefferson. Hot tub was a great bonus. A very lovely, comfortable and peaceful place… Would love to go back in warmer weather to stomp around the stream and use the vast open area around the cabin- plenty of room to throw Frisbee, etc.

The property was as advertised with a well-appointed kitchen, beautiful stream behind the house and set on large lot. It was exactly the get away that we wanted. The only tip for other travelers is the WiFi is perfect for checking social media but not fast enough for video streaming or to work remotely. Just as well so you can enjoy the views and time away.

We enjoyed the cabin! Extremely clean! The hot tub was relaxing. There were plenty of blankets and pillows and towels for everyone. The doggie basket full of toys and bedding was also a huge plus! The owner was super helpful and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend this cabin!

This secluded mountain cabin was a wonderful place to get away for the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin was clean, and the owner provided everything we needed to relax, including a hot tub overlooking a mountain stream. The owner was very accommodating.
