"The property was lovely and very clean with all outdoor dining. Small birds flew in and out as we ate, yet I never saw a mess from them. The hotel cat was very friendly and visited our balcony most evenings to receive pets. The breakfast buffet was ample and good. They were very accommodating for my gluten intolerant husband, purchasing several gluten- free types of bread and cookies for him without asking. The website led me to believe they were more prepared for English speaking guests...

"Cariab Bay is a comfortable place with Duplex style houses surrounded by lush foliage across several winding paths. The breakfast is very good, European style, with croissants, coffee, yogurt, cheese, and fresh fruit. Catherine and Christophe are warm and inviting people, and their staff is friendly. French is mainly spoken but they'll accommodate your English with gaps in interpretation. The beds are mostly singles, with double or full consisting of two singles pushed together. The shower...

"great time and great breakfast. The only issue we had was being back in the room by 10PM and not able to leave before 700. Otherwise was great!!!! Great views, decorated wonderfully and great location"

"We were happy to have had stayed at Hotel Tropical! We stayed in a room with private bathroom and had access to a communal living room and kitchen. The kitchen had a filtered water source which we appreciated. The porch was a lovely spot to have morning coffee. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. "

"Staff was very friendly, accommodations were clean and neat, appliances worked perfectly, pool and hot tub were clean everyday. Great location to see Basse-Terre island. Free parking for your rented car (which you will need to see the island). We were in a Studio with a kitchenette. Bigger grocery store was about 20 minutes away. only 15 minutes to Deshae (where they filmed Death in Paradise). We had a great time."
