"This is an older hotel and could use new beds and bedding. The shower has been remodeled and is nice but it is impossible not to get water everywhere. The bathroom steams up so badly they have a plate on the door telling you not to leave the door open when showering or you will set off the alarm. That being said, it is clean and the staff is wonderful. The restaurant was closed but you could get meals in the bar. The food was good and again, the staff was great. The room was clean, cozy, well kept, bed was beyond comfortable, and the atmosphere inviting. This was my first trip overseas and I absolutely loved it. "Brought my nephew to see Santa in Bunratty and this was the closest hotel i could find. Delighted we found it. My nephew said it was the best hotel he has ever stayed in. Reception even printed him a map of where to find Santa. All the staff here were extremely good and friendly. Definitely a place i would go back to or recommend. Cater to gluten free as well. "

"We chose The Old Grounde Hotel for our first two days upon arrival from the US and it did not disappoint. It set the standard with extremely attentive staff, beautifully maintained historic rooms and the most delicious dinner in their Town Hall restaurant with impeccable service. Highly recommend!"
