"We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. It’s centrally located for visits to both the Yorkshire Dales...

"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the cottage over New Year. It is small and cosy and set in a small village overlooking fields and hills. The sunrise in the morning is beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook meals and there is a large Sainsbury's about 10 minutes drive away to stock up on provisions. "We stayed for two nights over the weekend with our dog. Weather was fabulous. Managed a couple of long hikes. Aira Force and Keswick nearby. The cottage is lovely and has all the amenities we needed. Parking spaces right outside. Quaint and clean. Would recommend!"
