The house is spacious, private, and in a quiet area. Per Ove supplies nearly every incidental (paper towels, TP, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher detergents, cleaning supplies, shampoo, hand soap, and trash bags) so there’s no need to stop at a store on the way except for groceries. "This is a very nice property with a great view across a fjord. Very quiet location. The owners of the property are extremly nice and helpful. The property itself is very clean and simply a great place to stay. There are very many hikes and fishing opportunities in the neighborhood."

"We had a wonderful two weeks in Hareid - the house was wonderful, with spectacular views over the fjord. Even if we were a bit unlucky with the weather it did not matter much, because the views over the sea and mountains were always different, always spectacular, and there was tons to do: the Aquarium at Ålesund (which our 5-year old adored), Ålesund itself, Geiranger Fjord, and - beyond the tourist attractions - the island itself: there are some lovely walks and beaches here, and the island is...

You can not ask for better views and the home owner went above and beyond for us when we ran into probelms with our travel plans and she allowed us to extend our stay by two nights. We can not recommend it enough and will absolutely be trying to come again."

"This house is the perfect location if you want to get away from it all. The proprietors were unbelievably hospitable and kind. It is not unusual to be awakened by sheep bleating, along with their bells. The view is stunning, and because of the latitude, you get to see it very late and early in the day. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher. If possible, I would definitely like to go back."

"What a wonderful place to spend 7 days & nights. Done a fair bit of driving through the Fjords over a couple of trips and the road up to Urke and our final destination takes some beating. Amazing place. An added bonus was getting out onto the Fjord on the boat that comes with wth cottage. Thank you Thorunn for all your help and advice which all added to making it an unforgettable few days."

"The pictures set some high expectations, but the location was even more amazing. There is a cabin behind this one, but no one is close on the front, so the views are wonderful and the area feels very private. The cabin itself is very spacious, with high ceilings upstairs and a lot of sleeping options. Great outdoor seating on the porch, and a charcoal grill. The town is super small, but only a short walk away and there’s a great local pub right on the water."

"My family stayed 1 night at Alnes Gard during our trip to Norway. We stayed here as a base to see Alesund and so glad we did! This place is a lovely little gem and we had fun exploring the small island. We saw lovely rainbows, experienced a beautiful ocean sunset, and went on a great hike! Would highly recommend this place!
