"Don't like the room but convenient for a night"

"I don’t want to be too negative about this hotel, but it has some very strange quirks. The Airai is a very large hotel, but looks like they only use a few rooms, it is a long way from town, but walkable to a new shopping centre, which has some food options, the strange thing is there are never any customers, this was our third stay, depending on day of the week you get a full resort including a water park virtually to yourself. "Once this is fixed up and (hopefully) back as a dive/tour operator i would give even higher grades. It has a bit of a patinated feel to it, i.e not new and certainly a few dings and dents but if you don't mind sharing a bath room the place has a certain charm. It is close to a number of tour operators so it can be very well located. A bit far to walk to downtown...."

"The quiet, friendly place has only 6 rooms, so there is no tourist crowd. The owner will make you breakfast that you can enjoy in the garden area. You can ask them to make dinner too, they arrange transport to downtown area or trips around the island. You can rent kayaks and launch it front of the house, where you can also go snorkeling. "Great room in the center of everything. Walk to shopping, dining and there are a ton of tour options in the area. Very nice staff and the fact they offer airport pickup and drop off was helpful. If you are going to stay an extended time, the well equipped kitchen is a huge plus. Breakfast is included. There is no ocean view, but you will have plenty of ocean when you dive or snorkel or kayak. I would stay there again. Great bang for your buck$."
