"Nos amies, ma compagne et moi-même avons passé un séjour globalement agréable dans ce gîte, qui dispose d'un cadre de vie très plaisant en pleine campagne. Cependant, nous avons rencontré quelques désagréments à notre arrivée : la vaisselle était poisseuse, les sols du rez-de-chaussée et de l'étage étaient sales, et il y avait encore de l'eau sur le sol de la salle de bain. "This is in a retirement complex within walking distance (1km) of the centre of Lisieux. The room we had was good, with a kitchen with Hob and microwave and a dining area. At the weekend the access to the building is by key code and the reception is not manned all the time. Very quiet. The set up seems quite surreal, but actually works well."

"We had lovely relaxing 3 nights. The garden is beautiful and are dog loved it. Just the sound of birds all around. The owner is lovely and very helpful. A great few days."

"We had a wonderful holiday. The location is in idilic countryside and farmland. There are sheep, cows and pigs all close by. We liked our visits to nearby Conches and Everaux. We were very happy to make a trip to Paris from here in order to see the Olympic football. Our son loved the pool which was kept beautifully. What a wonderful holiday. Thank you."

"We had a fabulous time in this beautiful house. Katy was super helpful and available whenever we had questions. Love the cat that came to visit (outside)!"

"Really enjoyed our 5 night stay in the chalet. Kitchen adequate, great shower with lashings of hot water! Quiet and secluded location but alas the owls and cuckoos were heard not seen. Cinq etoiles d'or to Catherine who was a delight."

"Sylvie and Hubert were excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome. The house is set in a lovely location, and it was great to have the pool during the heatwave. Nearby Bernay is an amazing town -- don't miss the Saturday market."

"We had a lovely few days relaxing in the countryside. Great property, lovely open space for kids to play and gorgeous peaceful views across the valley. We did a day trip to Paris, taking the train from L’Aigle. Check in and out very easy and Nathalie an attentive and helpful host. Would recommend!"

"We used the house as a base to go to Olympic events in Versailles and Paris. It was wonderful to come back to the quiet house and we made full use of the pool on our days off! Well equipped and comfortable, we would recommend to anyone needing to get away from the city"

"Beautiful property and grounds with lots of sunny spots and shady spots. The pool was beautiful too. We did a couple of day trips out but mostly just chilled out and made use of the pool and table tennis. There was also a tennis court with basket ball hoop but we didn’t use it. Good local supermarkets and we tried the local pizzeria and bakeries - all excellent."

"Clean comfortable bed. Nice hot shower. Elevator to 3rd floor. Very accommodating staff. However coming back at night is a little disconcerting since everything is dark. People in another room screaming so difficult to sleep. Breakfast was perfect. Location was perfect. Carpet not so clean but otherwise room was very nice. "

Castle nested in the forest of "Le Perche" region - lower Normandy

This castle in the woods is like a fairytale!

"When we booked this place we spent months excited about it and talking about how cool it would be. And then we got there and it lived up to all of our hopes and more! We stayed for a month and never got tired of the amazing view from the castle to the grounds and from the grounds to the castle. We spent hours hiking in the woods and playing kickball on the main lawn. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed. Jerome was a dream and arranged for his wife to cook us two french meals, which we absolutely loved. The castle is pretty isolated, but we didn't mind that. And the grocery store we liked was only 15 or so minutes away. There were a lot of bugs in the castle, but they didn't bother us, and we've come to expect that when we stay in rural settings. My husband and our four kids absolutely loved it here and would HIGHLY recommend it!"
