"We chose this property for the reasonable price and proximity to Puy du Fou and it served us well. It is well equipped for cooking (we made 2 dinners) and there a is great selection of food nearby at the Super U. It is especially quiet at night which we appreciated. Somehow I neglected to include our grandson when making the reservation but Jocelyn was most gracious and accommodating of my mistake. There is a good shower and the composting toilet, while unusual, is perfectly fine. I would...

"The house is NOT appropriate for winter rental letting. The main room's only heating system is the old fashionned fire place. The house is not insulated at all. There are gaps around the doors which we tried to block with our sleeping bags; there was no functionning heaters in any of the bedrooms. The first two nights stay the thermometer registered 8 degrees! The manager, Wendy Williams, promptly brought extra wood and elelctrical heaters. Unfortunately, the heaters tripped the electrical...

"J'y est passé une semaine avec mes 2 filles (19 et 14 ans) et nous avons passé une très bonne semaine. Mes filles cherchaient surtout du repos, après un mois de juillet très mouvementé. Elles ont été ravis. Le très grand jardin et la superbe piscine ont suffit à leur bonheur. Le gîte est grand, très sympa et bien agencé, de quoi donner envie d'y rester plus longtemps. Nous y reviendrons sûrement l'année prochaine. Pour les parents, dont les enfants ne s'inquiètent que du débit du wifi, dites...

"Our party of 12 of all ages had a great break in this fantastic property. The layout worked superbly for 4 different families yet allowed us to come together for large meals together. The secure pool area was especially good for the grandkids. The property is close enough to the beach yet set in quiet countryside, so there is something for everyone. "Le gîte est une grande maison campagnarde au calme avec un très grand jardin. Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable à 2 familles (11 personnes) sans avoir l’impression d’être « les uns sur les autres », ce qui était précieux. Ce gîte de campagne a aussi les défauts de ses qualités (mobilier un peu ancien, débit de l’eau limité quand les 3 douches fonctionnent en même temps), mais il a un indéniable cachet que nous avons beaucoup apprécié."

Adequate hotel for 1 night

"Hotel is clean and bed is comfortble, if decor is slightly shabby. It is fine for an overnight stay when on a journey. Handy for Les Sables d'Olonne which is a nice port with good restaurants. We arrived late so the restaurant was closed but the hotel has a late check in which is useful."

"We stayed one night here prior to a visit to Puy du Fou. We had a family room for four people. It was fairly small, but had everything we needed and the space had been carefully designed with plenty of room for luggage etc. It was also nice and clean. The restaurant does excellent food in the evening (well worth visiting whether you are staying at the hotel or not) and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. "

Cheap and cheerful overnighter

"The hotel was convenient for the route we were on. The receptionist was friendly. The room was clean and tidy but minimalist. The room was small with bed against the wall so accessible from one side only. The bed itself was comfortable. Being convenient for the route it was also noisy all night if you are a light sleeper ear plugs would help. But it was cheap! "

"Quiet little bungalows with aircon, confortable beds and private bathroom. There are tables and seats on the terrasse in front of each room, very nice for lunch outside. The room was basic but quite spacious and had everything we needed as we stay 3 nights to visit Puy du Fou (5 min by car). Very convenient to get home quickly after the night shows free on site parking. However, the cleaning of the rooms could be improved: the room has a very strong smell of insecticide when we arrived, we found several dead spiders on the wall and the bed sheets. The bathroom was not properly cleaned in some of the corners (dust, hair) but nothing too bad."

Great property

"We were so happy with our stay here. We had an extended family visit to see puy du foy. The accommodation was very large and perfect for our big group, the grounds were beautiful and the children loved the outside space. We would not hesitate to stay here again. The host was beyond helpful and was very kind after my daughter twisted her ankle in the garden (entirely her own fault as she fell over a football the children had been playing with)."
