"the place has a feeling of relative newness which is nice. we were drawn to the high ratings but this would not be a top property in many other places. The rooms were very standard in arrangement and decor, the amenities slim in room (one small and lackluster pack of coffee for the little drip maker). When offered a second floor room we were told maybe the view is better and yes, fine view of the lower level lobby roof... Casino also benefit from the relative newness so overall it worked out,...

"Highlands is a gorgeous property. They have more luxurious rooms on one side of the road with the restaurant. We stayed other side of the road at the Village at the highlands. Simple but well appointed. Great for our 1 night stay. A few minutes drive to Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park. The restaurant was 5 star. Delicious, make a reservation. Staff was awesome."

"Excellent, quiet room. I don't think anyone was on either side, so very peaceful and quiet. Hotel front desk had my request in order, so was much appreciated. I gambled a little and won a few dollars. Staff very friendly and I really enjoyed my stay.
