"The staff was fabulous; both helpful and kind. We were unaware that caves are humid, which was our naivete. Breakfast was ample. Our cave was large and had lots of places to sit comfortably, inside and out. The only reason the stay was not 100% excellent was the humidity inside the cave despite running dehumidifiers and air conditioning. Having a sweet dog on premises was a bonus!"

"The villa more than lived up to the photos and descriptions. Stunning hilltop location that offered privacy, 360–degree views, and easy access to Matera and a couple of small charming towns, as well as day trips to the higher-profile tourist towns like Polignano, Alberobello, etc…. "Funktionelle Unterkunft, nur ca. 350m zur Piazza Vittorio Veneto. In der Unterkunft ist alles vorhanden, bei Ankunft erhielten wir von Prospero und seinem Sohn viele nützliche Informationen. Matera ist unglaublich beeindruckend, samstags sehr großer Straßenmarkt im neuen Teil der Stadt. Sehr empfehlenswert!"

"It was very interesting to spent few days in very typical and authentic old Italian house. It seamed that the time stopped there. Great experience! We liked it a lot. But as in the old times you can not expect air condition in a hot days or wi-fi. Everything else was really ok."

"Der Pool ist riesig und das Personal sehr freundlich. Deutsch spricht hier niemand, aber die meisten können so weit Englisch, dass man sich verstängigen kann. Die Apartments sind groß und wir hatten auch eine wunderschöne große Loggia, die wir sehr genossen haben. Allerdings sind die Apartments nicht besonders schön eingerichtet, und bei uns kam auch der Putz von der Schlafzimmerwand. Dafür fand ich das Doppelbett sehr bequem, allerdings waren die Schlafsofa selbst für die Kinder...

"I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and visiting Matera in general. The staff spoke great English, were onsite and were very friendly and personable. We were welcomed with a personal sign outside our door as well. It was walkable to everything you needed. The breakfast included was AMAZING (piano player in the background, sit down white table cloth, table service and plenty of food options). You could explore the hotel and all of the cisterns. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. If I could rate this 1000/10 I would. "

"Mario has been helping us to navigate around the town and book transfer for us. He addresses us with our names and makes us feels like home in this old ancient city. We love our stay in Cenobio and the room is fantastic and clean. It's an experience to stay in a cave room"
