"Given the ratings/reviews & my experience with similar caliber properties around the world, I was disappointed in certain things. The security guard at the front gate of the property was extremely rude. Didn't welcome us but asked what we were doing there. Our driver was very taken back by his behavior & said he's never seen anyone so rude at this establishment. Two days prior to arrival, I was sent an email form w/ one of the questions asking when we'd be arriving. I selected the noon-2pm...

"I thought it was on a beach, but its across the street from a beach. I found out the locals dont really go into that beach. Also its close to the airport which waa nice but its far from everything. Its definitely a place to spend 1 or 2 nights just for the aesthetics. It rained the first night so the view was superb. Even at day break and dusk the view is amazing. There is no tv so we had to find other things to pass the time. "

"I wish I'd had more than one night to relax at this little gem of a hotel on a little gem of an island nation. The hotel arranged a taxi from DOM airport, and I was welcomed warmly and thoughtfully upon arrival. My particular needs were met with great care. My room, really a suite, was well appointed and included a fully stocked kitchen. Everyone on staff was polite and accommodating. I had a late lunch at the hotel's restaurant. "It was a very serene lodge. We only got to stay one night but the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We slept with the screened windows open and could hear the rain all night. It was such a good night’s sleep. The hosts were wonderful and we had a Continental Breakfast of fruit, avocado and toast and an excellent chicken and rice dinner with avocado and vegetables. I would like to return for a week or more."

"I booked this trip for my clode friend. She was extremely disapoibted because the A/C didnt work and she spoke with the front desk more than once on the issue. Additionally during her stay housekeeping never changed the linens..she did not enjoy her stay at all. It was very uncomfortable "

"Beautiful location! So secluded and peaceful. Eveything was immacualte and exactly as described. Comfy bed, hot shower, washing machine, gas stove, full size fridge and freezer, beautiful patio. Would absolutely stay again without a doubt."

"1. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere - no entertainment in or nearby - everyone sleeps early here, including the owners 2. Rooms are rustic hippie designed which is nice if you are looking for attitude 3. The air conditioner in the room hidden away behind the cupboard and starts by leaking water for first five minutes 4. Hot water shower is slow and not working st all on second day. 5. Nice jacuzzi also not working no water from tap 6. Breakfast was only stale bread and coffee and juice -...

"Nixson and his mother are lovely. He took time to make sure I was comfortable, and kindly shared his knowledge of the plants in his garden with me Fridge, hot shower, comfy bed, nearby shops, atm, restaurants Some mozzies but there are nets so I slept great I went to Batibou beach nearby, about a 1hr walk, or 10 min drive. My jaw was on the floor 😍 I enjoyed my stay. Thank you"

"Amazing coastal town and only a short drive from the major destinations in the Northern part of the island. Christine is a kind and attentive host that was very flexible and accommodating with check in times. Lee’s restaurant and bar, Love @ First Bite is incredible and he is a great guy. "Our experience at the Pagua Bay House was great! The grounds, cabana, restaurant, and view of the bay were amazing. We ate most of our meals on-site at the bar and grill. As others have mentioned, we really appreciated the help from Sheldon and Alicia in setting up activities and providing suggestions to explore the island! We would definitely recommend staying at Pagua Bay House on a trip to Dominica."
