"Dayton House is our go to hotel for our family vacations. This is our second year staying, and the staff is always friendly, the location is close enough to the boardwalk and has so many options within walking distance for food, mini golf, shopping, ect. The room has fresh paint and was mostly clean. There were some baby food pieces on the floor when we first got there, and our kiddo isn’t a baby anymore. The lazy river is fun, and having multiple pool options across the property is awesome. And you can’t forget the beach! It’s not too crowded in that area which is very nice. I feel safe on the property as well. Overall would recommend!! "

"Our three night stay at the Francis Marion Hotel was very pleasant. A very good value compared to other hotels. It is an older hotel but well appointed. Great staff. The restaurant was not fancy but the food was very good and reasonable. There is a $20/ night parking fee.we used Uber and the bikes to get around."

"This resort is beautiful! The view the location to the beach and to town couldn’t be better! The only downside is the staff. There is a very strange vibe from this resort that the staff is not really wanting to be there and the guests annoy them. Not just from one location but several example the restaurant the coffee shop the beach bar the house keeping. We are incredibly friendly people and not very hard to impress honestly especially on vacation however the staff could not act more annoyed that you’re there if they tried. The woman who works in the coffee shop I’m assuming doesn’t drink coffee whatever you order she will give you something completely different with a very annoyed demeanor while making straight eye contact. All of the onsite restaurants shuts down around mid morning and they don’t serve and close until early afternoon for lunch. Not the worst thing but on vacation it’s nice to have late breakfast options. The front desk double charged me and if I hadn’t asked for a copy of the bill at check out and then when back to the front desk to ask I wouldn’t have known until I got home. The manager was argumentative and not very eager to fix it quickly he said he would do it when he could and call me (which he did and refunded a couple fees. That was nice) unfortunately he wasn’t eager to help until I voiced I was upset. Also housekeeping knocks on the door early in the morning to clean on a multiple night stay in a resort hotel (Monday and Tuesday). Not a weekend. "

"As a solo traveler, feeling safe is a high priority. I was getting nervous because many reviews are so salty. Make sure you understand the difference between "Oceanside" & "Oceanview" as you choose your room. After a quick mattress-&-mirror check, I was ready to relax & start my mini vacation that I stressed so hard over. This place may not be for everyone, but any flaws noted are merely cosmetic & nothing to write home about. The driveway to check-in is quite tiny & not for the weak to maneuver. The front desk was happy to print a map to show me where to park after check-in, which was a VERY short trek across a very safe, pedestrian-friendly street. Not many amenities in the room itself, but ask the front desk for anything you need! Walking the beach alone felt safe, & many visitors were on the beach well past dark. Pool area was enjoyable. I live in Michigan, so our very short pool season won't begin for another month. There are no signs prohibiting bluetooth speakers in the pool area, so don't expect a quiet lounge. This place was a literal paradise & I was just happy to be near the ocean & sunshine. I don't have the privilege of traveling very often, & an affordable room with an ocean view was just what the doctor ordered. Walking to shops & local eateries was easy & I felt safe everywhere I explored. The closest shop was about half a block away with snacks & drinks & of course souvenirs. I can't wait to come back one day, thank you!!"
