"This house is being renovated on the downstairs. However everything you need is on the upstairs floor and really the only thing missing is trim pieces. The appliances are all really nice and you have all the amenities you need. There was plenty of space (compared to a hotel) and a nice large yard as well. The cleaning fee was reasonable and we did not see a list anywhere asking us to do everything before we left, which was nice. Fry Pan set for cooking was a little rough/cheap but not a big...

"Nice waterfront location, quiet, with lots to do in area, and for the most part my group of 10 had fun. But the house had some problems. Beds were uncomfortable. Two of my guests left and checked into a motel because of beds and stuffy bedrooms (no AC in bedrooms). Another left a day early for same reason. Smell of mold was omnipresent in house. Other maintenance issues in the house. A rowboat was promised in the listing but it was unusable. I wouldn't recommend this place unless the above...

"Three families fit beautifully in this huge comfortable house. It was clean well stocked with towels, sheets and pillows. The mornings were calm, and the guys enjoyed fishing off the dock. And the evenings were warm and comfortable and fire pit was shared with s’mores and lots of laughs. The sunsets were very beautiful. Highly recommended!"

It looks to be outside of Skaneateles and technically that is true, but it is 5 minute drive next to the lake with beautiful homes, etc. The building itself is beautiful, old but with a lovely aesthetic. It feels homey, but one that an interior designer designed. From board games to an ice machine at the ready while in front of the fire…it was delightful. Tasteful and elegant guest suites, great linens, wonderful help-yourself amenities in a thoughtfully stocked pantry. All of this steps away from the storybook lakefront village of Skaneateles.
