With more than 200 life-size dinosaur models and many interactive games and activities, this educational theme park is great for families.

Visit Dinosaur World, a large theme park with dinosaur displays and native gardens. The theme park contains animatronic dinosaur exhibits, a small museum and interactive shows. With more than 20 acres (8 hectares) of lush gardens, paved walkways and natural areas, Dinosaur World is perfect for a day outside.

See life-size dinosaur models, representing many varied and unusual species. The models are carved from polystyrene foam and covered with fiberglass. The textured and painted sculptures are positioned in native vegetation and man-made areas to simulate an ancient environment.

Look for herbivorous quadrupeds, such as the stegosaur. Find a mighty Tyrannosaurus rex, a bipedal carnivore with a huge skull. Dinosaur World contains sculptures of woolly mammoths with accompanying educational displays. The park also features life-size replicas of dinosaur skeletons.

The park features many activities and games for adults and children. Visit the Fossil Dig, a 15-minute guided activity where you can sift through sand to search for shark teeth, stingray barbs and more fascinating objects. Pan for real arrowheads, gems and minerals in the Dino Gem Excavation activity. Purchase a bag or bucket of dirt, take it to the mining sluice and keep whatever you find. Uncover a dinosaur buried in sand at the Boneyard. Listen to paleontologists at the show in Exploration Cave.

At the Geode Cracker purchase geodes and split them open using a special device to reveal the crystalline interior. Join an interactive tour to visit the cave, dig site and workstation visits. Tours are appropriate for all ages and are a great way to learn how fossils are formed and preserved. The indoor museum also displays a collection of real and cast prehistoric fossils.

Bring a picnic to Dinosaur World, as there is no food service inside the park. Find the affordable theme park in Plant City, 66 miles (106 kilometers) from Orlando, Florida. Some activities may charge additional fees however, many are included in the children’s admission price. The site is open daily year-round.

Stop at the animatronics display inside Dinosaur World’s small museum, where motion-activated dinosaur models come to life.
