Fabulous 5 bedroom house with large enclosed garden, perfect for family breaks

With accommodation for 6 to 10 people. Abbey Farm would be ideal for a larger family, a group of friends wanting to gettogether or indeed for special birthdays and wedding groups as it is close to some excellent wedding venues.
Abbey Farm, a sumptuous spacious detached farmhouse, perfect for larger families. This beautifully renovated house offers comfort and luxury in equal measure. There are two wood burners for those cooler evenings and a stunning, mature garden for those warm evenings just to sit in and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Abbey Farm has a large garden with good off road parking. The rear garden is fenced all round. The ponds in the grounds which are typical of a 16th century house are fenced for safety . The large enclosed garden includes areas of lawn, shrub borders, and trees. There are several seating areas and a large table which easily accommodates 10, a fire pit and BBQ are there for you to enjoy. Very well equipped kitchen with everything that the budding chef could need or indeed to hire a private chef for that special occasion. Approximately 2 hours drive from London.
Located in Thrandeston, guests can visit all that Suffolk and Norfolk has to offer, as you are located right on the border. If a drive isn’t in your plans, you can put on your boots and explore the many walks and cycle trails in the surrounding area. There is a secure shed for your bikes. A particular favourite is the 12 miles of footpaths through The Thornham Estate, an ancient parkland, with woodland and farmland, as well as a Victorian walled garden. A perfect location for walkers, cyclists or anyone with an interest in history or wildlife Abbey Farm is close on the Suffolk Norfolk border in an area rich in historic treasure and wildlife sanctuaries including Redgrave and Lopham Fen a wild watery landscape of sedge, rush, heath and hundreds of pools created over many centuries by local people as they eked out a living, digging peat for fuel and cutting reed and sedge for thatching.
For shopping: Diss has a good selection of supermarkets and small independents with a market on Friday mornings together with Chemists and everything you may need during your visit. Eye has a Deli, Pharmacy, Post Office and some very nice gift and antique shops and two small Co-Op supermarkets.

The home was warm and inviting when we arrived and there was a lovely welcome package waiting for us, which was very much appreciated. The property was very comfortable, cosy and well catered for with lovely log fires. Also a very large garden. Angie has prepared carefully for guests in the current coronvirus conditions and changes the cushions and throws on each visit, which is great to know. Lovely place - thanks! Helen

A magical place
This is a place of wonder, equally suitable for early morning birders to sleepy heads who want to curl up in front of a winter fire with a book or some friends. The kitchen is so well appointed you won’t remember where everything goes. The rooms are individual. Be gentle with the plumbing and careful on the stairs.

Autumn at Abbey Farm
A gorgeous property, tastefully restored and with every convenience. Ample grounds in a pleasant rural setting within easy reach of Diss. The owner was warm and welcoming. However, I would have liked HomeAway to use my proper name MRS CLAIRE BUCKLEY rather than the nickname presumably found on the system. I did write and phone about this.

Fantastic property grade A standard
Abbey Farm is a fantastic property and our party of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is equipped with everything you need, especially the kitchen. Every room is really well furnished and very comfortable. The small touches like the welcome pack and toiletries in each bathroom make it a higher standard than other similar houses we've stayed in. The gardens are delightful with several areas to sit and relax, BBQ and dine outside with plenty of room for children to run around around and play. Of the 9 properties our party have stayed at in the last few years this is by far the nicest and most comfortable and we are definitely going to return next year for our annual family weekend away. Many many thanks for letting us enjoy this fantastic house.

Fantastic stay at Abbey Farm, nr Diss
Our stay at Abbey Farm was just amazing! I was over with a group of Italian students to learn more about English life and culture, and their experience in this beautiful, historical house was perfect. The house is spacious with quirky attic rooms, and a spectacular garden. It's beautifully furnished with fireplaces, vases of flowers, pictures, books etc, so it really feels like a home. There was everything we needed, including a chess table and table football, so the kids had a lot of fun. We were welcomed by Angela, who left us lots of basics, including a lovely welcome food and drinks gift. Basically, you couldn't wish for more. Thank you!
