"The first thing I have to say is the staff was excellent. They could not have been nicer. The reason I gave it only four stars was we simply did not enjoy sleeping on the floor OR the options for breakfast. Communication was a bit lacking too, but that was partly the language barrier. "Staying at this ryokan was the absolute highlight of our 10-day trip to Japan! We stayed in Room 303 and loved having our own private mineral soaking tub out on the deck plus the public onsen. "Total relaxation and we'll needed downtime. The staff at this were wonderful and welcoming. The area was beautiful, the hotel looks out onto sweeping mountain landscape. We enjoyed the indoor onsen and slept soundly in our traditional accommodations. The food was very impressive, so carefully presented and delicious. We ate breakfast and dinner here but also tried some restaurants with walking distance that did not disappoint. A remarkable experience, thank you for your hospitality. "

"The place is exactly what I was looking for during our vacation. I wanted to go somewhere quiet and not very busy. I was looking for a place that was not so touristy and this was it. All the staff were super nice to us visitors. It will take some planning to get to the hotel. But once you figure it out and get there, you will find the peace and tranquillity you’re searching.
