"Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. "Clean, big house. We were there with 2 families. A great multi level garden with toys for the kids (inside and outside). Great patio to hang out with table and chairs. Garden is a very very big plus point. What would make the garden complete are a few movable lounge chairs. The host and property manager were very quick in responding to all our request. "The gite was very well equipped and comfortable. Probably one of the best we have stayed in over many years. The surrounding countryside is variable, with flat plains , hills and lakes. If you are interested in Ww1 the preserved trenches in the area are the best I have seen. Verdun and Nancy, which are a short drive away, are both historical and picturesque."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely family home, there was plenty of space and lots of outdoor activities. We really liked the pool however it isn’t fenced which would have been good to know in advance. There is a local vineyard, restaurant and a supermarket nearby. We would definitely recommend this large house to other groups wanting a quiet getaway. The hosts were extremely helpful and offered to help with anything we needed."
