"Was in a refurbished Atrium room. Was comfortable and fresh. However furniture table on balcony had bad cup stains which was a bit of a let down. Atruims currently being refurbished The hotel seems a bit dated in all as most of these grand hotels. Some Atrium balconies could do with a fresh coat of paint or a good scrub. "Originally I was put in a room without a window which wasn’t great - the staff were helpful but I had to double up costs to get a sea view when the hotel wasn’t busy. I thought they could have been a bit more flexible on this "

"We had perfect 3 day stay with attention to every detail by the staff. The very traditional hotel had many original features and I would be hard pressed to find any criticisms. My wife and I were both equally happy with our stay."

"Lift not in use. Booked before we knew. Main reason we booked as both of us struggle with stairs. Booked through hotels .com. and they state lift not in use overnight. My fault as i didn't check on the hotel site. They did show lift out of action. Lesson learnt. Bathroom very small and dated. Room basic as expected, clean and had kettle etc. Breakfast was included. Juice,cereal, bacon etc. Very good. Asked for a slight change and it was no problem. Delia the lady was amazing. Nothing too much...

"Massive thanks to the staff. Check in was between 2PM and 6.30 PM, which wasn’t convenient for me, so they gave me a security code to get in the front door, and left my door key in an envelope inside so I could arrive when I was ready. Also looked after my luggage while I was out for the afternoon. Owner is really helpful with guides as to where to go, and how to get there. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Hotel exceeded expectations of a budget hotel, quiet room, comfortable bed, en-suite room...

"Look, it’s a guesthouse not the Ritz! Room was small but perfectly functional and newly fitted out. Property itself slightly stuck in a time warp but really well managed and friendly. Excellent breakfast."

"Lovely, friendly and polite staff. Fire door banging next to our room all first night which kept us awake. Informed staff next morning and it was sorted out by the afternoon. Tired decor considering it was the executive luxury room. Bed wasn’t the best to sleep on. Breakfast was good, again, really attentive staff."
