"Great place to stay if you’re needing good proximity to Plymouth and surrounding areas but want the peace and quiet that Dartmoor brings. Staff accommodated our late check-in due to road traffic accident which we were very grateful for. Included breakfast is delicious and chef is super friendly. "Stunning country castle style hotel. Rooms finished to a very high standard. Staff were wonderfully attentive, seemed genuinely pleased to help and proud of their establishment. Packed with history and a real oasis of peace and comfort. Afternoon tea and breakfast were delicious with a wide choice of options. I felt that the dinner option I had was a bit “nouveau cuisine”, lots on the plate but not much there. But what was there was very well prepared. Spa was very pleasant, although a bit of a shame that the steam room was out of order, as well as the lift to the spa. Will be staying again, it’s not cheap, but you pay for what you get. "
