Buck Inn is a beautiful historical building in a very quiet area. I do believe there were crickets in the basement, but fortunately, I love the sound of crickets. Our room, the Van Gogh, was spacious & comfortable. It doesn't have an in-room private bathroom, but since we were the only guests during our stay, the bathroom a few steps down the hall wasn't a problem. This bathroom was only in need of a shelf on which to put our things when getting ready. The in-room coffee/tea, orange juice, cream & yogurt/granola for breakfast was nice. It was kind of Mark to have someone there to meet us, as the house sits way off the road & is quite dark to find & enter for the first time. The outdoor areas are wonderful. This is not a walkable area & one needs a car to get into town, but it is very close to town & easy for our local family to provide our transportation.
