My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while exploring southeastern Arizona. When Maxine found out I was pregnant, she was nice enough to upgrade us to the two bedroom casita at no extra cost. The main reason we stayed here was that it had a kitchen so we could cook our own meals. While the size of the kitchen and appliances available were just what we needed, the kitchen lacked utensils for us to cook with. There was one pot and one frying pan, however no spatula or anything besides eating utensils to cook with. We used a fork to cook our eggs and potatoes!
The description of the property mentions it is by active train tracks. In my mind that meant a train went by every so often. Sadly this wasn't the case. Since it was right by an actual crossing all the trains blew their signal each time they went by. Trains seemed to run all day and all night, sometimes with only 15-30 minutes between passings. Not much they can do about that but its worth a mention!
As I mentioned, we stayed in the 2 bedroom casita which could easily sleep 4 people with the two beds there, however, I was thankful it was just my husband and I since the bathroom lacked a door. Well, it had a sliding/closet type door but it didn't give much privacy. To get to the bathroom you had to go through the closet of the bigger bedroom and on the wall right across from the toilet was a heater with vents and you could see right into the bedroom, or the bedroom to the bathroom.
The property itself is adorable, Maxine was very helpful answering questions before arriving, and the caretaker on the property was very nice as well. It was in a great location for what we needed for our trip. A fix of the bathroom situation and some cooking utensils in the kitchen would have helped our review. Not much can be done about the trains sadly!
