This cabin was rustic and beautiful in a wooded mountain area that was just delightful. We had plenty of space for a family of 10 adults plus our dog, and it was comfortable and very homey. A fun assortment of games was an appreciated bonus that we put to good use as well as plenty of firewood to keep a fire burning in the cold evening hours. Although the kitchen had only the essentials, we managed. (Bring your own InstaPot, slow-cooker, etc. if they'll be needed.)
We were surprised by nearly a foot of snow the first night which threw us for a loop...but the driveway was plowed for us as well as the road up to the cabin (sort of, haha!). A warning that if there is snow, or a chance of snow, the roads in and out could be impassable without 4-wheel drive or chains would have been helpful. We had to have a family member pick up chains for all of our vehicles in Cedar City in order for us to be able to get our cars out a few days later. Hiking down to the main road and back up with all of our late-arriving family members' things (including at 20+ pound raw turkey for Thanksgiving!) was an adventure. Even 4-wheel drive trucks were sliding off the road. All of that being said, for a family with boys in their 20s, it was a fun challenge and the experience will be memorable for sure!
We were limited in what we could explore in the area without snow tires or chains, but we did spend time at the lake the first day, and in the winter it was simply magical.
ALL the stars! Loved it!
