we really enjoyed staying with you guys,hopping to see you again next year. we only had this one problem lake of communication with your receptionist where we had to wait for more than 30 sugar and coffee, I went twice to the receptionist to ask for sugar than she tells me that the cleaner is not yet in she will bring me the when she comes instead  of her giving me what I needed, she never even said sorry I was not happy all about that.....

My stay was horrible, the room was dirty, aircon wasn't working, the carpet smells & it was the worse stay ever in coming to Durban. I won't recommend a friend to go they.

Durban une ville pour faire la fête

La première impression que j'ai eu en arrivant à cet Hotel , que sa devait être un EMS pour les personnes âgées, pas de jeunes que des personnes âgées. Durban est une ville bruillante, sal et les plages pas propre. Je ne retournerai pas.

They refused to take American Express!

Didn't stay because they asked me to do a direct deposit into a special account! I think it's ridiculous to know that Parkview does not have credit card facilities; they should update!

besides the fact that the bathroom door didnt have a door, i had a great stay. however i do propose that security be told how to treat guests esp if they aren't aware of any changes like single rooms to couples room, cause i had to be interrupted in early hours of the morning to for them to check how many beds are in my room cause they saw me and my partner walking in.

Our room was so homely, large, clean, air-conditioned and generally very comfortable. The extra things like a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and kitchen sink just completed the homely convenience. The bathroom...mnn! Very spacious with bath and shower! And spotless! If all the rooms are like what ours was like, then I don't know why this hotel is rated 3 star. And the service...the Reservation Manager was very accommodative. Thank you vey much.

Great value for money. Area close to the main beach but actual hotel not in a great area. Not an arrea I would recommend going for a walk after dark. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Durban Surprise

Arriving at the main entrance was a little daunting, not usual to find metal gates across the entrance, however upon entering a warm welcome, made me feel a bit better. The hotel was once a major hotel in Durban but over the years has been taken over by other more impressive and more expensive options. Park View is now a retirement home, and caters to the seniors market. I entered my room, a large well decorated room, small kitchenette with fridge and microwave, crockery and utensils, flat screen TV, very comfortable bed and plenty of handing wardrobes, in room safe, iron and ironing board, nice clean bathroom wet room shower, (water pressure a bit low) but OK. Breakfast served in main dining room is extra, and you need a voucher from Reception, pleasant, efficient staff and a nice variety on offer, dont miss bacon on Sundays. I stayed 4 nights and enjoyed my stay very much, staff very pleasant and service good.

Please ,notify customers before hand that hotel is retirement home , to avoid surprises on arrival.It is not suitable for families with young children because it can frustrate them to see so many old people/ ill senior citizen.The breakfast menu too if it could be changed or modified to suite all ranges of travellers , Noise at neighbourhood is unbearable but rooms are well kept and homely are very nice .Thanks

beds were ok, but the air conditioner wasn't work and the TV remote control was not working. we reported that and nobody bothered to check or attend to our complaint

Für jüngere Reisende zu empfehlen.

Insbesondere für jüngere Reisende ohne allzu viel Ansprüche an den Komfort ist dieses Hotel zu empfehlen. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und sauber wie auch das Bad. Wir hatten eine Mikrowelle und einen Wasserkocher. Für unsere Ansprüche ein super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Park view hotel review

I was very impressive with the hotel staff preparing the food I want to eat before my arrival. I stayed at the hotel for Comrades Marathon. Before my arrival I contacted the hotel staff for public transportation options, it was helpful and they prepared my race food for me. That was awesome!
