Very good - spacious clean room, friendly service, great food. This is a traditional British pub, a friendly and good value place to stay. Dinner and breakfast were very good - tasty, plentiful and hot.

Staff were all very helpful and friendly. There was a good variety of reasonably priced food on the menu and drinks at the bar. Rooms were clean, the shower and hot water all worked well. Full English breakfast very good. Handy for visiting Durham, Newcastle, Beamish, Diggerland and Kynren.

We enjoyed our stay very much.The pub is out in the country but very lively.Sonia,the landlady is a great cook;recommend the lamb chops and cooked breakfast is everything you would want.Comfy beds and airy room too.Recommended.Visit to Beamish museum nearby was great fun
