The only thing we didnt like was being on the ground/first floor, the windows are just above head height, but buses are passing and stopping outside constantly"

"Was a little bit worried when see reviews about people struggling to get deposit back. Mentioned this upon arrival and they only took a pre authorisation on my card so no money was deducted. The place was clean, the oven didnt work but wasnt to bothered as we were only there 1 night and didnt really need to use oven. It was nowhere near as bad as what i was expecting from reading reviews."

"A fantastic find for our needs. The owner was exceptionally helpful. Central to the city. Great value for money. We had a great room. However a few things to make it better : 1- the oven/microwave didn’t work even after trying a few times. It needs a master in engineering to make it work. Had this booked, received an email from the property owner the day before claiming the property was no longer available due to a leak and that I would receive a refund. The best place to stay in Central Manchester !

"What a fantastic place to stay in central Manchester ! The hotel was super comfortable, spacious and relaxed. Spotlessly clean and the breakfast had so much choice and was excellent all round. However, by far the standout part of our stay at The Alan was…….the staff. James and his team were outstanding and made is feel incredibly welcome, nothing was too much trouble and all the restaurant and bar staff were amazing too. Great job everyone! "

Excellent pre-Christmas break

But as soon as we arrived the lobby, reception, and restaurant were all very well maintained and decorated charmingly for the Christmas period. Our room was spacious and comfy with tea, coffee, snacks and quality shower products provided. We ended up having our evening meal in the restaurant and both the service and food were great. Breakfast wasn’t quite so good due to the volume of guests waiting for hot food. Nether the less, the food on offer was still tasty. So overall we had a great trip, just a shame about the Manchester weather. "
