Lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bath vacation house located close to Lake Russell in northeast Elbert County, GA. Includes 3 twin beds in one bedroom and 1 queen size bed in the other. THIS NOT A PARTY DESTINATION. Only registered guest allowed on property. No outside speakers allowed. Fully furnished with wifi and tv. Plenty of parking for boats and vehicles. Ideal for fishermen and hunters. Great location on Lake Russell with 5 boat docks within 3 miles that serve Lake Russell and Clarks Hill (Strom Thurmond). Property is NOT directly on lake as there are NO homes allowed on Corp of Engineers property.

Lake Russell is approximately 26,500 acres in size with 540 miles of shoreline and is one of the few lakes in the Southeast that remains undeveloped, pristine and naturally picturesque. The area provides a wide variety of recreational activities including water sports, boating, hunting, fishing and hiking. Largemouth base and Striper fishing on Lake Russell is so popular that numerous fishing tournaments are held throughout the year. We have 2 very old loveable dogs that greet our guest.

We spent Thanksgiving with our dogs and everything was great from the space they had to roam to the hospitality and knowledge about the land from Roger. High School State Golf Tournament
Our son was playing in the State tournament at Arrowhead Point it was just a short drive! This was the perfect place to stay! We will definitely stay here again when we come back up this way! Very Merry Christmas
We came up from Texas for a relaxing Christmas, and that is exactly what we got. We went mining in Abbeville SC, ventured to Helen GA and all around Elberton. Connie and Robert are the best hosts. They make you feel like family. Homey was the sweetest dog and so sweet to my little dogs. I would recommend this little house to anyone looking for that home away from home kind of place. Thank you both for such a special time.

We were there to fish. I have a 24' center console boat and there is plenty of room to turn around and park. Electrical hookup for charging batteries is close and a water hose for bait tank, washing up, etc. as well as a fish cleaning table. The turn into and out of the driveway is a little tight, but very manageable. The house was very clean and well kept as is the yard. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again...

Wonderful stay!!
We are so happy we found Angler's Retreat and cannot wait to return on a future date. Even though our trip was booked last minute over the 4th of July weekend, the owners opened up their doors to us and made us feel so welcomed. Roger is seriously one of the kindest and coolest people we have ever met. He went above and beyond for us in every aspect and we will never forget it. The guest house is beautiful, extremely comfortable and has everything a guest could ever want or need. We have rented many vacation homes before, and have never been treated so well. The comforts of this home coupled with the kindness of the hosts are literally unmatched and will make your stay here feel like you're visiting family. The property is beautiful and the hosts have a boat that you can rent if you're coming to fish, or to just simply enjoy the lake. Don't think about it, just go ahead and book this retreat. You won't regret it!

Spider webs everywhere
Said it was clean & can check in early. From that I expected it to be clean when it wasn’t. I checked in like 5pm & had to clean up before I could even think about staying. Soon as I pulled up a big stray dog ran up on me & my son. Then jumped on my car. Connie was like it’s ok he’s friendly & won’t bite so we got out. Then other dogs was just wondering on the property is was just a mess. Then for my gathering for my Bday she say ppl had to go. It was a mess and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY IF U KNOW YOU WILL HAVE COMPANY.!!!

We can't wait to return to Anglers Retreat!!!
We had a fabulous time at Anglers Retreat! The house was perfect! Everything was new and spotless. We had everything we could have imagined needing. The kitchen had coffee and spices stocked, as well as ice cream and sodas in the fridge. I mentioned that my family would probably just watch movies and play board games at night, the host replied that she had been meaning to buy some board games. I told her mine were packed, no need. Upon arrival, I noticed the closet was packed with brand new board games, which we happily played. The hosts allowed us to check out very late, giving us another full day at the beautiful lake. They also let us check in early so we had plenty of time on that day too. We rented their gorgeous pontoon boat and fished and swam to our heart's content. We used their grill (all tools and charcoal provided). Not only do we plan on returning next summer, we plan on going back for a couple of 3 day weekends again this summer. We had a wonderful family vacation, unplugged and recharged! I have zero complaints. 💯‼️

The property was comforting, as it was out by itself, more or less a nice country setting with even a horse nearby! But I was greeted by three large dogs in the dark that scared me! The place is an older home that really needs some elbow grease! When I arrived I opened the refrigerator only to find a live fly in it! The dead boat on the back door didn’t work unless you lift up on the door, and I had a hard time figuring that out, and that was only because the owner sent someone out to clean up the cobwebs throughout the house, the fly in the refrigerator and roach on the floor! The decor in the house needs to be updated! There were cheap rugs throughout the house on the floor that would buckle up every time I stepped on them! I will never stay in another Vrbo again! This was my second house that I’ve stayed in and just like this one the first one was absolutely faulty as well!

I had a bad experience with a VRBO rental a few years ago and said I would never do VRBO rental again. Should have kept my word to myself. The house was roach infested and filthy. Looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. The furniture was covered in cobwebs. I spent several hours mopping the floor to get the filth off of it and remove the cobwebs. But when nightfall came, the roaches began running. We left a few days early because we couldn’t stand it anymore. The WiFi was very limited which was not disclosed until we arrived which created issues with scheduled things we needed to accomplish using the internet and video calling. Lesson learned. No more VRBO rentals.

Lake Russell Fishing Trip
Nice quiet property located 3 minutes from a major boat ramp on Lake Russell. Plenty of parking space for multiple trucks with trailers and an external outlet to charge boat batteries. Gas station with very good tackle selection 5 minutes from property.

Comfortable place; excellent hosts
