This gorgeous alpine resort is best known for its very tall summit and its grand monastery. Ride a unique revolving cableway to appreciate majestic views.

The Engelberg-Titlis Ski Resort is home to Central Switzerland’s tallest mountain, 10,626-foot (3,239-meter) Mount Titlis. Ride the world’s first revolving cable car to the mountain summit where you can dine at one of several scenic restaurants or explore an eerie ice cave. Glide down the slopes and take advantage of the resort’s excellent backcountry terrain. Tour the town’s historic monastery.

Reaching the summit of Mount Titlis requires an impressive three-stage journey. The last part of the journey occurs in the revolving Rotair cableway, passing over the spectacular Titlis Glacier. Stop at Titlis Station for a meal or make the 45-minute hike to reach the mountain’s summit.

Take the Ice Flyer chairlift to Titlis Glacier Park, where you can ride rubber tires down 490-foot-long (150-meter) slides.

Venture into Titlis’ glacier cave, where the refraction of light illuminates millions of ice crystals in a haunting blue color. Running 66 feet (20 meters) below the surface of the glacier, the cave’s walkway stretches for 490 feet (150 meters), branching out into several different directions.

Steady your nerves for the Titlis Cliff Walk, a suspension bridge on the mountain summit. At 9,977 feet (3,041 meters) above sea level, the Cliff Walk is possibly the highest suspension bridge in Europe. Spanning 3 feet (1 meter) wide and 330 feet (100 meters) long, the bridge provides an exciting walk with stunning views of the dramatic drop below.

Join a tour of the Benedictine Monastery of Engelbert, which dates back to the 12th century. Explore rooms decorated with intricate wood inlays and look for the monastery’s organ, one of the largest in the country. Watch cheesemakers at work at the on-site exhibition cheese dairy.

Reach Engelberg-Titlis Ski Resort by train from Lucerne in less than 50 minutes. In the winter, use the free ski buses that run to and from the slopes. Enjoy the beautiful natural and man-made attractions of Engelberg-Titlis Ski Resort.
