The Eagle's Nest is a beautiful 5 bedroom 4.5 bath home in the hills above Estes Park with breathtaking views of the nearby mountain peaks. Only .5 miles to Rocky Mountain National park and .5 miles to downtown Estes Park. The hot tub on the deck overlooks the valley below.
The gourmet kitchen has a large Sub Zero fridge, double ovens, and a gas cooktop. 4 large flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, shuffleboard, and games. Large enough for big groups, 3 separate floors, 4,500 sqft of space to spread out.
There are three floors to this spacious property. The 1st floor has a front entry and an entertainment room. The 2nd floor has all the common areas - kitchen, dining, living rooms along with one master suite with its own private balcony. There is a large outdoor living space off the kitchen where the hot tub is located. The 3rd floor has 4 bedrooms including another master suite with a private balcony. There are two driveways to the property - one from below that leads to the first floor and another that comes from above with access to the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Just a few minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, The Eagle's Nest is located in a private, quiet, mountainside neighborhood overlooking the Big Thompson River. When you look out the front picture windows at Lumpy ridge and the Mummy Range of RMNP it's hard to believe you are only a 5-minute drive to downtown - close enough to walk if you are looking to stretch your legs. Just a half mile down Riverside Dr from downtown Estes Park.
WINTER TRAVEL - in the winter, snow is frequent and the driveway is steep. With 5-6 significant snow days (more than 3 inches) a month from November to April, we highly recommend at least 4-wheel drive. The paved driveway to the front of the house is about a 12% grade. There is a gravel road to the back of the house which has a 7% grade but is not as steep as the front. There is a good chance that you will experience some snow during your stay - which is one of the best things about Estes Park in the winter - but if you aren't prepared can cause problems!
The driveway to the front of the house is steep - 4-wheel drive is required in the winter. Enough parking for 5-6 cars. Only a half-mile drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and the same half-mile drive to downtown Estes Park.
An electric vehicle charger (Tesla Wall Connector with adapter for any J1772 EV) is free to use in one of the lower floor garages. The 60 Amp 240-volt circuit provides 11.5 kW of power. As an example, this charges a Tesla Model 3 (extended range) at 44 mph.
There is an elevator on the property that is kept locked due to liability issues. If you have an accessibility need, please contact the owner to discuss use - which would involve signing a liability waiver.
